Publisher's summary

Things get textual when a steamy message from a random wrong number turns into an anonymous relationship in this hilarious rom-com by Lynn Painter.

Bad luck has always followed Olivia Marshall...or maybe she's just the screw-up her family thinks she is. But when a "What are you wearing?" text from a random wrong number turns into the hottest, most entertaining - albeit anonymous - relationship of her life, she thinks things might be on the upswing....

Colin Beck has always considered Olivia his best friend's annoying little sister, but when she moves in with them after one of her worst runs of luck, he realizes she's turned into an altogether different and sexier distraction. He's sure he can keep his distance, until the moment he discovers she's the irresistible Miss Misdial he's been sort of sexting for weeks - and now he has to decide whether to turn the heat up or ghost her before things get messy.

Critic reviews

"This book made me burst out laughing while on the treadmill and I almost lost my balance and fell to my demise. So. Don't read it while running on the treadmill, because you WILL explode with laughter at Olivia's terrible luck, and you will absolutely swoon over Colin, and you will definitely fall in love with the two of them and root for them with all of your heart. One of my favorite romcoms, heavy on the 'com' and steamy on the 'rom'!"—Jesse Q. Sutanto, author of Dial A for Aunties

"Filled with laugh-out-loud situations and moments of heart-fluttering swooniness, Mr. Wrong Number is a true romantic comedy. I loved reading about Olivia's messy, passionate approach to life. And the sexual tension was off the charts! I'll read anything Lynn Painter writes and I'm already impatiently waiting for her next book."—Kerry Winfrey, author of Very Sincerely Yours

“If you’re in the mood for a laugh-out-loud, sexy rom-com about an unlucky young woman who moves in with her brother (and her brother’s hot roommate) while she attempts to get her life together—look no further. Painter’s hilarious voice and vibrant characters are a breath of fresh air in this highly enjoyable romance.”—BuzzFeed

Left me wanting more!

This story was so fun to listen to. When you get this sort of chemistry between characters you want to see where it leads. Good story and well performed. Will search other titles from the same author.

Lynn Painter is going to be a new auto-buy author!

Lynn Painter’s other book, Better than the Movies, was one that I adored, so I was excited for this one. I ended up getting the audiobook to listen to and it was totally worth it! First of all, Olivia’s interviewing experiences sounded EXACTLY like my own lousy interviews. Not to mention how she wanted to stay living close to her nephews is my exact reason I don’t look at jobs away from my home city because I don’t want to miss out on any time with my niece and nephew. This book was unique though, different from a lot of usual forced proximity, older brother’s best friend, wrong number romances. I mean, he didn’t have a crush on her all along, and that seems more realistic to me. So I liked that aspect. And while I get why he didn’t tell her when he found out, I also know he should have, and I understood why she was upset at that point. It was more than just the not telling her, the author did a great job of making it more than that so that her emotions made total sense! Also, the female narrator on this one sounded soooooooo much like Sarah Michelle Gellar to me! Anyway, loved this one, and can’t wait for more by this author!

Awesome

I tried this book just because of curiosity and it was so good!! I could not stop! It was diferent and funny, full of romance! It diserves a try!
I liked the male voice more, but they did a great work! She speaks faster than him.

Cute and entertaining.

Romcom with humor, enemies to lovers, and best friends little sister tropes. Loved the narrator's voices.

Easy Listen

This is a great story and a good listen. It is a romantic staple. Same tropes. I enjoyed the characters. If your looking for lite romance this is it.

Very predictable, but comforting.

Even though this book was very predictable, it was a nice, easy listen. I truly appreciate a romance that does not have gratuitous sex in it, so I was very pleased.

Love the idea of the book, hate Olivia’s character

I love the idea of the teasing and secret sexual energy, But (spoiler)

Her brother’s roommate is already being nice enough to let her stay in his office after a last minute favor. She is disrespectful and insolent. She eats his food without asking, breaks and dirties his house without cleaning. Opens his sealed bottle of expensive drinks and the one time she does ONE THING nice(dinner) she makes him do the dishes. She lies to get a job and gets mad at him when she gets caught.

cute story

Cute story, excellent narration! worth the credit for the witty text banter alone. Add in a feel good story, and you have a good time.
