Publisher's summary

From USA Today and Amazon Charts best-selling author Meghan Quinn, and narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Vanessa Edwin, comes a new stand-alone age-gap rom-com featuring a new cast of characters that will immediately have you hooked. This steamy, laugh-out-loud enemies-to-lovers small-town romance delivers the perfect happily ever after every romance lover craves.

Why am I holding a box of stolen memorabilia in my arms? It's called...revenge.

After failing my last semester of grad school, I decided to come back to my hometown and wallow in my boyfriend’s sympathetic arms. Instead, he proceeded to dump me...for being boring!

Now, I'm not typically a spiteful person, but there's only so much I can take. Hence why I’m holding the box of his most cherished possessions...stolen possessions no less!

The plan? To give the box back to its rightful owner and rat my ex out. How’s that for being boring?

But plans never go the way you want them, because instead of dropping off the box with a note, I’m pinned with the crime by the true owner of the box himself.

Hayes Farrow is grumpy, arrogant, and stupidly hot in a way that makes it hard to even look him in the eye. Not to mention he’s my brother’s nemesis so I fully intended to stay far far away from the gorgeous jerk.

But to add insult to the injury that has become my life as of late, Hayes gives me two options: Turn me into the police and press full charges...or work it off. How could I possibly work for someone I can't stand? Easy, I don't look good in orange.

But working for Hayes isn't as horrible as I thought it would be. The way I hate him begins to turn into something else—something I never thought I'd feel. But the way my brother reacts when he finds out I’m working for his enemy? He’d prefer me in prison orange.

Very much ADULT CONTENT...

I love a hot sex scene, but this is... well, it's very graphic and very dirty! Just wanted to put this warning out here because I read a good handful of reviews before purchasing, and I didn't see it mentioned. It's pretty much a porno.

All the feels with great narration

Wow…..where do I start and the question is can I do Hayes and Hattie’s journey in The Way I Hate Him justice. Well let’s give it a go.
Meghan Quinn has proved again she is amongst the best writers in the romantic comedy genre with this entertaining and emotional story.
It’s everything you want in a great story because Hayes and Hattie’s journey will break you and then put you back together again.
The narration team of Venessa Edwin and Teddy Hamilton did a wonderful job bringing the characters and their story to life. They were spot on with the humour, they hit every emotion that runs through this listen and once you add in that their voices are so easy to listen to you get a perfect audio book.
Hattie is back in Almond Bay after failing her last semester for her masters degree, back home looking for some sympathy has her turning to her boyfriend who decides it’s time to tell her to take the high road and that’s exactly what she did with a box of memorabilia he stole from his boss Hayes Farrow a famous rockstar. Determined to get her ex fired she takes the box to Hayes only to find her plan backfires and she ends up working for him. Hayes is the enemy but to avoid police charges she needs to do what ever he requires, whatever he needs….and that’s when the fun and games begin.
If you love small town, rom coms with characters you fall hard and fast for, look no further than The Way I Hate Him. This book has it all, I cried, I swooned, I smiled and I laughed out loud but more importantly I found myself rooting for this couple.
Looking forward to more visits to Almond Bay.

Great story

The narration was great. It, they really brought it to life. But if you know these narrators, you know that's what they do.. The story was good. I mean, the girl's going through lot of emotions from losing her sister. The mail who is a rock star is going through lots of emotion. From being lonely, everybody wanting things from him. Or not wanting him at all just for his fame.. So that gives you A little hint of how this story goes. I enjoy The story.

MQ did it again 😍

🚨🚨Warning: SPOILERS 🚨🚨🚨

Can someone please give this woman a reward?!? MQ literally made me feel so much in this book. The raw emotion Hattie went through with her siblings made me weep. My heart broke for her over and over feeling her pain of being pushed away and left out by her siblings. Hayes’ love for Hattie was top notch and her love/hate for him was the sweetest thing ever.
Hayes pushing Hattie away with his comment about Cassidy made me squish a freshly made peanut butter and jelly sandwich into my fist!
The love Ryland has for his sisters, Mack being the cutest little thing ever, Aubrey being a powerhouse ugh it was all just simply stunning.

The humor in this book was top notch, plus all of the small comments about her other books, the pigeons, TSwift was literal perfection.

The spice..*wipe’s forehead*THE SPICE🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Somebody bring me fan because it is HOT in here.
Chapter 20..that is all. ~ happy listening 😉

Hayes’ line when he says “Oh yeah, I forgot, you’re fired” holy tsunami 💦

Truly this book was a masterpiece and my all time favorite MQ book and honestly favorite book of all time.
I cannot wait for the rest of the series.

Really loved this! One of my new MQ favorites!

This is HOT. I really really LOVED this book! One of her best! I wish there was a but more substance to the conflict and resolution and also wish characters had more time “falling in love” but those are all small things. This book was so fun, steamy, and emotional. 🤌

PHENOMENAL story!

HOLY SMOKES!! On a scale of 1-5 stars...I would give this book 100 stars if I could. What an emotional yet inspirational read! Meghan Quinn loves to give your emotions a workout. A great enemies to lovers, forced proximity, small town romance that will pull you in from page one and won’t let go long after you are finished. The plot is devious, delicious, hot and steamy, with a twist I didn’t see coming. I. LOVED. EVERY. SINGLE. MINUTE.

Vanessa Edwin & Teddy Hamilton do an amazing job portraying the characters, bringing them to life and humanizing them with their emotions, attitude and personality. They do more than giving their characters their voices, they fall into the roles and become the character.

Funny and Cute

DESCRIPTION:
Hattie: I failed out of school, I can’t tell my siblings they would be so made at me. At least I have one good thing to look forward to coming back to Almond Bay and that is Matt. Little did I know he was going to dump me.

Hayes: I shouldn’t give her a job. She is my ex-best friend’s sister, but I can’t let her go either.

MY THOUGHTS:
This book was so funny. I loved how Meghan brought in other aspects from her other books. If you hadn’t read them, you wouldn’t know they were there. I loved how Hattie’s personality in this book, it was light and super funny. Her friend Maggie was just as funny. This book was sad and there was some heartache. Hayes was your typical grumpy man who of course is perfect.
