Waking up to a text asking why you stood up your blind date is not the best way to start the day, especially when the man in question is standing half-dressed in your kitchen.

Maybe Dakota Newton shouldn’t have assumed the gorgeous man with a devastating smile standing outside the coffee shop was her date. She probably - okay, she definitely shouldn’t have slept with him, regardless of how hot the chemistry between them was. But how could she have known Mr. Right was actually Mr. Wrong?

Braxton Adams has been called a few things in his life, but a liar was never one of them. That all changes when he’s approached by a beautiful woman who thinks he’s there to meet her for a date.

As a businessman, Brax knows to trust his gut and never let an opportunity pass him by, so he pretends to be someone he’s not.

Maybe he shouldn’t have lied. Maybe he should have come clean. But in the end, it doesn’t matter, because now he has to prove he’s not the wrong man, but the right one.

So what if he’s not the man she was expecting? She’s the one he’s been waiting for.

5 Star. First 5 star is a 20 book slump. I was sad it ended.

What an amazing introduction to a new to me amazing Author, Aurora Rose Reynolds. This book had THE perfect blend of alpha male heat, possession, control, and love. That’s truly hard to come by nowadays, this really reminded me of Gideon Cross and Eva and the crossfire series and not a lot of books have come even close since then!
Our H, Braxton was the ultimate dominant. He controlled our H Dakota with a firm and steady hand that made her melt and weaken the knees. Don’t get me wrong, this did not make her a weak person, just a really good submissive, who also had a head on her shoulders and didn’t take everything dished out to her.
The heat and this book was more closed door and shockingly, that didn’t bother me at all! I was still able to fill in the blanks and enjoyed myself immensely!
In addition to reading, I also listened and the narrator, Maya Starling did a great job of both female and male voices. I could easily tell the difference and it wasn’t “over acted” either.
All in all this was knocked out of the park. It is definitely getting added to my physical purchase list and I cannot wait to go figure out what else is on Aurora’s back catalog and get myself caught up.

Loved loved LOVED this 4.5 star read!

I never pass up a chance to read Aurora Rose Reynolds books as they never disappoint in any aspect. They are fun and hot and have a little mystery to them. This story between Braxton and Dakota was no different. Always enjoyable to take your mind off everyday life!

Ok, I get why some people are up in arms about the controlling nature of the men in the story, but this is fiction. That's what the story is about. That said, it was a basic book that never really got off the ground for me. It was an ok "Insta-Love" story line, but everything still fell a little flat. I probably won't buy more from this author for a while, but I will definitely be keeping an eye out as she continues to hone her craft. If you are interested in a "hot" beach read with a man who knows what he wants and isn't afraid to push to convince his woman, this is just what you're looking for.

This story turned out to be a mystery. I could not get into the characters as I really did not learn much about them except the H was somewhat a controlling alpha and the h was immature struggling with childhood trauma. Steamy scenes seem to dominate the story as it was the main connection between the characters. Story was not as described in summary.

Not what I expected

I enjoyed this story. Sure the H was a domineering Alpha but I liked that because the h didn't just take it sitting down. I do wish there was a bit more closure with the ex and a bit more explanation with the whole "threat" because honestly I felt like that came out of no where and for me there were some questions left hanging. The narration is done well and it's a fairly quick listen that helped me through my day.

Enjoyable
