I was happy when it was over

The story of a woman with a thousand friends and only a few of which can hold a candle to her brilliance

Some tough sledding here.

I think Ms. Lowndes must be a delightful person to know, but I think much of the book was like a trip back to 1981. It pains me to say that because are some good nuggets here. Belabored.

How to be completely fake and kiss ass to get ahead

If you want to play the BS game do this. If you want a meaningful life full of people you really like, just be kind an honest.

I needed this

Some time ago as a post graduate, i used to go to marketing parties with a big and bold ambition to get to know someone BIG from the marketing field, and to socialize. I would spend hours choosing an outfit to wear or doing a makeup. But i would completely ignore the fact of “preparing anything to say, a topic to discuss, or small talks to mix and mingle with strangers”. Then obviously, i would end up chatting with friends i cAme with and munch on party goodies, ignoring my initial purpose of getting to know “big cats”. As if i came to eat, in the first place.

Oh boy, had i known the tips from this book back then, i would be in a different place today. To some the art of communicating comes naturally, and some need to learn the hard way. The latter was true for me, and i have never given a conscious thought about it until i read this book.
Hope everyone reading, would enjoy it and learn from it as much as I did.

This book is an amazing collection of tips that are practical and can change your life. The author supplies great examples and repeats thing which helps the listener remember. I really enjoyed listening to this audio book and would recommend it to anyone who wants to be a better communicator.

amazing attention to detail and full of great communication skills guidance. the author really researched her subject and includes humor.

Could use some updates

Though it was enjoyable enough to listen to and you get prompted to re-evaluate your behavior, It felt to me a little outdated.

Basically how to manipulate people into liking you instead of being real

It does have a few interesting tips, mostly common sense, but told in a very annoying way. I could barely finish it. The author uses annoying and childish vocabulary and style with boring stories. Skip this and buy the workbook.
