Publisher's summary

Hard working criminal lawyer Elizabeth Montgomery is finally taking a vacation, a solo trip to the mountains of North Carolina to a cozy little cabin in the woods. Unfortunately, she doesn't even get to spend one night there. She takes an early evening hike and ends up on the wrong side of a vicious animal attack.

Or so she thought.

When she's found and rescued by sexy stranger, Abraham, she soon finds out it was a werewolf that attacked her. And that she's the newest member of Abraham's pack.

Now Elizabeth must navigate the changes that come along with becoming a werewolf while also learning to fit into this tight knit pack. For an only child who rarely speaks with her own parents, getting close to Abraham and his family might just be scarier than becoming a werewolf.

Contains mature themes.

it's just ok

I love werewolf novels... but some are better then others ..I understand that most of them are more smutty then anything but there is a difference between smutty and well just too damn much I've listened to all 3 books..but I found myself multiple times fast forwarding through them because they are the same damn explanation everytime.. and just not put together the best way...I had got myself into the stories and wanted to know what happens that's why I went through all three.. the stories are all basically the same thing over and over the smutt gets so frequent that it's kinda just annoying.. there is a good concept to the stories I just kinda hoped it would shape out over time and 3 books to get better but it didnt.... but hey this is my opinion someone else may absolutely love it but if you are unsure by the end of the first ...just write it off and forget about it dont bother with the others

A New Series on my wish list

I loved how this book wasn't instant love ( at least for Elizabeth ). The romance is very sweet and there is just a right amount of mystery in here also . I loved getting to know most of Abraham's family . The narration is a very good southern accent also . I will try to wait patiently for the next installment .

annoying accent

I'm from the same area this book is about. The story is decently good but the person reading it either has normally or used for this audio a really heavy southern drawl. instead of sounding authentic it comes across as extremely distracting and almost insulting. We don't sound like that around here. I usually listen to about a book day but the voice bothered me so much it has taken me close to a month to finish. in addition the main plot of the book was left hanging.

I say 5 stars would give more if I could!

As far as narration, I loved the narrator personally. She actually made her voice different for the male roles more so than I have heard others do and love it! Most just sound the same but she does sound different in those areas which help with the story.

It's sexy too! I quickly became a fan of this series after listening to this at work. I've re listened to this many times over now and love it more every time. Bought the actual book on Amazon as well. Recommend this series 10 times over!

Good story and depth, shallow female lead

I love a good strong, independent female lead, and yet I would LOVE to see this female lead get what she’s due. By that I mean a good smack upside the head. She is more than just strong willed, she’s stubborn and selfish. She doesn’t think about others or how her actions will affect others. I’m hoping that as the books continue, they will bring her to maturity. I have hopes she will get her issues resolved and grow as a character because right now she’s too shallow and, as a reader, I’m trapped inside her head and I’m not liking it.

The rest of the story set up is excellent, I have lots of ideas for who the bad person is! I am personally more invested in the overarching mystery plot than the romance right now. I guess that’s a good thing since I’m not loving the female lead.

The narrator is good as well, helped me to get into the story.

ugh the narrator...

The writing is ok and I didnt mind the story, I actually sorta liked it. I would have loved to finish this book, but the narrator is so bad, Sounds like a forced southern drawl and the male voices are horrendous! Hard to picture anything suave with a voice that sounds like my kid brother with s stuffy nose.

struggled to not roll my eyes to hard

Struggled to not roll my eyes too hard. The main character was annoyingly "innocent". It came across as immature and fake. Lots of talk of being a strong woman but the lady was super sheltered and was loving being sheltered by the love interest. No actual strength to be found. Lots of throwing fits and stubbornness tho. Couldn't finish it.

Loved it

I loved this story and the narrator. My family is from that area in North Carolina. Loved the way the story unfolded. It had me smiling and frustrated at times right along with the characters. Can't wait to see how the other books unfold and what happens next. And ti find out who the killer is. Great story.

Enjoyable story. Almost

1st the positives. This was well written, and an interesting take on werewolf romance. I didn't like the narrators habit of slowing down speech for the male character. It made him sound stupid. And the ending wasn't great.

enjoyed it

I'm happy there's more to the story...good characters and not a bad story in general, the bad guy so to speak still not being found out yet is good I'm looking forward to the next book. it didn't dwell on the intimacy parts and this gave more depth in my opinion. the accent makes it lovable and I think the main character makes the same decisions I think I would in her position, loved how bold and to the point she is, very happy I found this, I shall purchase the series to read the rest soon.

Too long

Would benefit from some serious editing. I'm 2 hours from end and thinking of stopping.

Great narrator, mediocre story

The narration was good but the actual book ended very abruptly without any kind of real climax in the story or solving the main issue present. Disappointing, it had great potential if only it was finished better.

Disappointing writing.

More potential than merit in this story, it ends rather abruptly, without much actually happening.
