Duet narration by Sebastian York and Lucy Rivers

She’s his fiancée’s younger sister. He’s the man she’s always loved.

When her sister doesn’t show up on her wedding day, Raven has no choice but to take her place — but marriage to Ares Windsor is nothing short of torture.

The elusive billionaire media mogul is the man she’s always loved… yet he’s only ever had eyes for her sister.

Married to him at last, Raven is determined to win him over.

After all, everything is fair in love and war.

And this?

This is war.

Publisher's Note: this book contains a lot of angst. As mentioned in the blurb, the heroine is marrying her sister's fiancé. If this is not a theme you'd enjoy, then this book might not be for you. This is a standalone with a guaranteed happily-ever-after, and no cheating.

Ooooooh, this book was good! I won't lie. The first 1/4 of the book, I struggled with the main characters, but when it got good...FIREWORKS.
It was messy. I mean, come on... Marrying your sister's fiancé? It gave me a Dynasty/Falcon Crest feel with the drama, and I ate it UP! Nom Nom Nom.
The duet style narration by Sebastian York and Lucy Rivers was really good, and the seggsy times... let's just say I tried to listen while driving and got caught up. I almost got a speeding ticket! 🤣

4.5 🌟 of Messy Goodness

Okay, I have to confess that about 40% in I had to take a peek at the epilogue cuz I need the assurance that there’s truly an and Raven. LOL!
The beginning was so gut-wrenching for Raven and I basically was annoyed with Ares for most of that part.
I sort of guess the twist at the end or maybe it’s more like a secret. This “secret” shows how manipulative and evil Hannah truly is. I mean not that there’s any doubt she and her mother are just bad people. Like who needs enemies when you have a sister and mother like these two. I feel so bad for Raven. And too bad Ares was stuck in Hannah’s trap for as long as he was. He was so wishy-washy with his feelings and I do understand why but still he wasn’t as strong as I think he should be. However, he redeemed himself towards the end. Instead of just telling Raven how he feels, he showed her in more ways than one. And that scene at Silas’s place definitely puts me on team Ares.

This was a good start to a new series. And I love all the Windsor siblings so I’m happy to know that they each will get their own story.

I haven’t listened to duet-style narration for a while now and this book reminded me how much I love it versus dual narration. Also, it’s Sebastian York so it’s even that much more enjoyable. His voice and pacing is always on point for me. Lucy Rivers did a wonderful job with the narration but some of her female voices were hard to distinguish.

Lots of emotional drama before the HEA!

So, I kept seeing announcements about The Temporary Wife which sounded like a good story. I had never read anything by Catharina Maura, so when I went to get the book I realized that The Windsors is an interconnected series and I usually like to start from the beginning. So, I decided to read The Wrong Bride first. But I won't lie, I was a little leery about reading it based on the blurb and the authors note. Let me tell you that I couldn't have loved the book more than I did. It is a great story. At times I wanted to throw my kindle, other times I was swooning, and a few times I thought to myself that I would murder off one or two of the characters. This story tugs at your heart and plays with your emotions. One other thing that I noticed about Catharina's books, is that they are all stand alone however a good portion of her previous books are based around the same location and her characters are interconnected and make appearances in her other books. That prompted me to go back and start reading from the beginning starting with the Off Limits series. So far I have read Until You, Dr. Grant, Professor Astor and Bittersweet Memories. All were great. Next up, is the Temporary Wife. But believe me, I plan to continue reading her books as they come out.

Absolutely loved it!

I really enjoyed getting to know Ares and Raven. Their story gives you all the feels and has some challanging problems to overcome. Ares is a very well known billionaire in charge of the media section of his family's businesses. Raven is a super model and an amazing designer. Both of them are so hardworking and make sure family is their most important priority. ❤️❤️ I really enjoyed getting to listen to this story while reading it and the Narrator's did a great job bringing Catharina's words to life. I can not wait to listen to the next book ❤️❤️
