Started Strong…

…but near the end it felt like the towel was thrown in—tropes were disregarded and/or muddled in favor of rushing the cheesiest of HEAs. That said, the majority of the book was enjoyable and the narration was great. All in all, not worth a credit, but decent enough to purchase if ever included in a sale or promotion.

Speechless

OK I'm not going to lie I pick this up because of Sebastian and Lucy narrating I love them both they can do no wrong. The blurb in it I probably might not even pick it up but a friend of mine said she was going to listen to it so I thought what the h***. The roller coaster this story took me on oh my gosh I am going to have such a freaking book hangover from this. In fact I have never read anything from this author so now it makes me want to go pick up other books from her because this is the kind of stories she writes I'm all in. The emotion the rollercoaster the twist turns on I just don't know what to say I'm speechless. I highly recommend

A must listen.

Messy, angsty, dramatic—but entertaining!

The Wrong Bride is the first book in Catharina Maura’s Windsors series and this one is messy, angsty central! This one has an arranged marriage between the heroine and her sister’s former fiancé, the hero! It’s also friends to lovers and she’s best friends with his sister as well.

Raven has wanted Ares Windsor since the first time she saw him, but then he fell for her sister Hannah instead. The Windsor family is used to having arranged marriages so their grandmothers arrange a marriage between Ares and Raven’s sister. It was supposed to be Raven at first but then Ares and Hannah fell in love. But now Hannah wants to focus on her career instead of the obligations that come with being married to a Windsor and she calls off the wedding right before it’s supposed to take place. So their grandmother says she doesn’t care which sister Ares marries but the wedding is aril happening and Raven finds herself walking down the aisle to the man she’s always loved…even though he’s still hung up on her sister.

Raven is a model and fashion designed and Ares is part of the wealthy Windsor family. They have to stay married for 3 years and give it a real chance, can’t be apart for any more than 3 consecutive nights, and have to share a bedroom. Her sister Hannah causes issues too since she still wants Ares to wait for her and get back together once his marriage to Raven is over, but Raven is determined to win his love in the time they have. This does have age gap as well (he’s 10 years older) but it didn’t feel like it. They’ve been best friends for years and she’s best friends with his sister as well. This book is so messy and dramatic (a bit predictable), but I was here for it. I did enjoy getting to know all the family members and their dynamics and can’t wait to get into more of the series now.

OUTSTANDING

I don’t normally write reviews cause i don’t ever love an audible enough to write about it. BUT THE WRONG BRIDE?! Oh. My. God. Beautiful, perfection, absolutely stunning. The voice actors were right on point with expressing emotion, with really putting you into the scene. Nothing short of absolute beauty. I highly recommend everyone to listen to this audible cause you’ll be missing out on this fantastic performance.

Story is great!

However, the FMC whines constantly. The book is about an hour and a half too long. Waiting and waiting for someone to put Hannah in her place. It didn't happen until there was only 26 minutes left. Boy, CM really knows how to build characters....some really hateful ones. And Grandma needs to butt out of everyone's lives. Definitely would listen to again, but too long.

Raven and Ares

Just feel in love with Raven just The person she is doesnt matter that she is rich and one of the most beautiful women she is humble and caring and loving. Hanna is a spoiled women that think she works hard and deserves everything good to happen to her what kind of sister would do that lie and hurt her own blood. Not only to her own sister but to Ares also she dragged him along knowing she didn't want him or loved him she loved what he could give her. Ares is a good man to do what he thought was right. Even though it came back and caused so much pain to himself and mostly Raven. Im happy that Raven and Ares where able to over all that Hanna did. They truly love each other and deserve to be together. Love this story .
