Long Drawn out, and Out of Date Advice

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Despite the low rating I gave this book, I would recommend it to a job seeker because it gives alternative views and ideas from main stream job seeking advice. Some of it is good, most of it isn't. However, if you are able to find on good piece of information from it and apply it successfully, it could make a world of difference.

What was most disappointing about Tony Beshara’s story?

The majority of Tony Beshara's experience is pre-internet. He keeps mentioning that you should call the "hiring agent". The fact is that most hiring starts at Human Resources and bypassing it is next to impossible anymore. I tried to attempt Tony's telemarketing style interview seeking and was told nearly every time to apply online.

    Any additional comments?

I've had 5 job offers since I bought this book. All of them were from job boards such as Careerbuilder, which he does not recommend using. I have had no luck using Tony Beshara's methods.

    Waste of money!

    Any additional comments?

Other than a few tiny segments, I got pretty much nothing of any real value from this book which is amazing considering how damn long it is!!! I can't believe i actually sat thru all of this. I can't see this really helping anyone on a job hunt, it is more likely to get you very frustrated with the whole process. No real answers to anything.

    It's better than "Parachute,"

It's a great starter book for people looking for a job. It's a down to earth guide.
