Publisher's summary

Alvin and his wives had been busy over the last few weeks. They’d gone out of their way to visit settlements they’d helped in the past, all while killing a string of mini-bosses across what had been the American west. Life looked good for Team Asshole…until the devs made a mistake.

Without any warning, Sammi stopped showing up. At first, they brushed it off as her being too busy, or maybe in trouble. That changed when a new dev showed up and tried to assert his dominance. That man was killed twice - first by Alvin blowing his head off his shoulders, then by Mousie running him through with both of her swords.

With the gloves off, Team Asshole started breaking things they’d left alone. They circumvented rules left and right, cheated fast travel, and did everything else they could. A third dev appeared and pleaded for a chance to explain.

Sammi hadn’t been fired, they were told. Instead, there was an unexpected development - Sammi was the first alpha tester. Now that they knew their friend was fine - and might even join them soon - Alvin and his wives backed off their shenanigans to give the new dev, Renato, a chance.

It wasn’t long after that that they received a message from Sammi. She was in New Orleans, stuck in the Superdome with a Loa named Erzulie, and she needed their help. With no hesitation, they loaded up their helicopter, Sky Blade, and set off to rescue Sammi and those with her.

After barely pulling off the rescue of Sammi and half a dozen other women, Team Asshole returned to their base. In the aftermath, Sammi joined Team Asshole fully, accepted as another wife by Alvin and with Gothy’s enthusiastic approval.

What a fitting end.

This series got me into this world filled with authors I had never heard of. It has been a hell of a ride and I'm sad to see this series end. Thank you Daniel for creating a masterpiece of a series. This book was just as awesome as the 7 before it.

AMAZING From start to finish!

Apocalypse Gates series has been one of the best Post-apocalyptic worlds ever created!
From the first day Alvin woke up in a small concrete room, until the Thanksgiving Feast at the end, This has kept me focused on the story and world Daniel Schinhofen created.
Sorry to reach the end but glad to explore and live the journey with Alvin and Gothy and others.
I recommend this complete series to EVERYONE who wants to step out of this world and into something AMAZING!
I can't wait to start the series all over again! 👍😁

Thank you Tess and Daniel, we love your work!

I’ve enjoyed this series since day 1. I don’t care one way or the other for the sex scenes. They are comical to a solid degree. But outside of that I have thoroughly enjoyed the series. I know this is a soft ending and it was worthwhile

Another excellent listen in the series.

I openly admit my favorable bias for the author's work and as well as the narrator. This series was my introduction to the genre and have purchased most of Schinhofen's books available on Audible. The narration was superb as I've come to expect from Irondale no matter the author. I'm somewhat saddened to find that this appears to be the last of the series because I've enjoyed them all as well as the overall premise of the series. Perhaps a later spinoff series can be developed to push into other areas of the world that has been created.

Well done!!

Fantastic end to the series, I can't think of a better way it could have ended. Tess, thank you for taking over the narration and making it your own! Daniel I can't wait to pick up one of the newer series I haven't started yet.

Wonderful!

A fantastic end(?) to a truly captivating series. Daniel Schinhofen once again pulled me into his story as few can, and Tess Irondale gave another wonderful performance, giving life and personality to all the characters within it.

I hope the author brings us back to the world he created from time to time, maybe as a few short stories, exploring a few of the colorful characters we've met throughout Hero's (Alvin's) journey.
