Publisher's Summary

Dungeon Walkers brave the depths of the dungeons for personal gain - clearing a dungeon means dungeon points to purchase gear with, but more importantly, perks. Perks are the main reason Walkers put their lives on the line. Every time a dungeon is cleared the first time, a Walker gets a choice of three perks that could change their lives.

Not every Walker makes it out alive. When someone dies in the dungeon, their soul is fragmented into four shards, which can be purchased for dungeon points. Collecting all four shards and taking them to a temple of the Goddess means the dead can live again. There is a sub-sect of Walkers that makes it their goal to bring the dead back from the dungeons - they’re called the Rescue Squad.

Stern is intent on joining the ranks of Rescue Squad. Finally done with his six months at the academy, he is about to make his first run through a dungeon. It will not be easy - he doesn’t have a crew, or a team, to run it with. Stern is an irregular - someone born with unusual perks - and unfortunately, looking like the blighted. Being seen as blighted has made Stern’s life hell, but he keeps pushing on, intent on making his goal real.

Despite his hardships, he’s been blessed with the unusual perk of his life-long friend, Pawly. Pawly is a polydactyl Maine Coon, who is protective of her friend and eager to help him reach his goal. With his friend beside him, Stern is ready to start his adventure.

(This book contains non-standard relationships and touches upon adult situations.)

Started off really great, then....

There's a large part dedicated to this weird 3way, harem, involving some traumatized girl. And is nothing but lame emotions and relationship navigating. Just awful. i had to fast forward the last 1/4 of the book. So disappointing given some of the other, interesting aspects.
Just a weird, boring, juvenile, harem section taking up the latter half.
What is with the middle school like cataloging of every kiss?
That 3way relationship could of been summed up in a paragraph, not multiple chapters."Supprisngly both girls like me and each other. Also, normal girl will help bunny with trauma, and me with my d."
If I want to read about romance, I'll by that kind of book. Same with eroticism.
That character was right, the Mc's nice guy shit gets beyond "lame." It's corny. This was written by a 12 year old white knight, or a girl. It's not "male bonding" it just sex dude, and women talk about it more then men.

Ugh!

I suppose one could consider this novel a fantasy but Audible really should have classified a book as this in the major category of LGBTQ+, sub-genre Fantasy.

The MC is a loner and not a leader type. Instead he has his female cat familiar as his fighter. That in itself gave me a spidey itch but since he was able to clear a couple of dungeons and had one of my favorite narrators performing for it, I decided to keep going. Without dropping too many spoilers, I will just mention some adjectives that will give a hint at what follows, furries, empath, incel, empath, domineering women, empath, momma's boy ... rinse, rankle, repeat.

I'll be returning this to Audible.

Starts out as an amazing story until the Baton swi

Is this started out as an amazing story with great promise until the bat and switch It's the ways it started out as though the author was turning over a new chapter expanding himself as a writer but then at It's the last 20% it seems as though he fell back into writing the same books over and over where he Is introduces a polyamorous relationship which muddies up until there was an amazing book even with it does Enhance This Is the same time it just seems that's not Is appropriate to the character's potlines it's it's maybe that I've read his other books and this when it starts out was just Something that showed he wanted to go away from that that he wanted to go outside his safety net and then He fell back into his safety zone stopped expanding who he was as a writer because it mixed it seem so hes afraid to be more to go out of his comfort zone of having to use a relationship not so much enhancement but a crutch This is why I say it starts out amazing story but then it becomes a big switch Hopefully he can create a story soon and will be confident enough in himself to go outside of This comfort zone And write a book without a A 3 way relationship

Good story, but a bit reverse haremish

The story is pretty god, with nice storytelling and worldbuilding. Plus for skipping detailing menial tasks, like many authors don't do. Would liked a bit more progress.

MC is supernice a bit of a wuzz to a point unrealistic.

The girls are super bi, like alot of harem, which also feels unrealistic. One of the girls lusts for anything and the other does almost nothing with the MC. This gives it a alot of a reverse harem felling, but with a girl on top. Guy feels like a doormat that can't get jealous. Its not what I enjoy.

Great start.

This book started off great. Kinda surprised that mountaindale published this. Be warned the last three hours a continual sex/romance threesome. Definitely not ok for the little ears.

I didn't realize who the author was. Mr.Apocalypse-Gates himself. Skimmed near-end chapters because repitious grab-assing.

It started out OK then took a nose dive.

This book makes you feel like you have missed a whole backstory. Was there something before this one? If so, the summary should have mentioned it. Next, the sexual tension and developing harem group dynamic brought it from an interesting plot to the usual rinse and repeat story line. I'm returning it unfinished.

Fun twist on duingeons

This book had a new and fun twist on the generic duongeon diving genre. It took a sort of broken charector and showed how much determination he had. Showed how solid his family upbringing was. Then showed how much he could love. The best part of the book happend in the last 4 or 5 minutes and it was a huge, AH SHIT THAT MAKES TOTAL SENSE MOMENT! Give this book a shot, Daniel Schinhofen at his best, and if you enjoy awesome pets this book is for you!

don't buy this book

the story is generic with a cat
isekai+raped companion
fast paced mostly
60% plot
20% filler
20% terrible romance
the start of the book is ok
but the rest is go to point A then go to point B

Great start to series

Even tho this isn't a MDP book it was great to see that they published the audio. Travis is a great narrator and definitely works his vocal magic on his projects. I look forward to the next one

Great start but dropped at the end

I really enjoyed the beginning and even the midde of the book but at the last 2 hours or so it turns into a completely different story and more into a complex romance. It isn't necessarily bad but its not the story thats in the description anymore.

The first chapter alone made me want to gtfo.

The first chapter alone made me want to gtfo. The boring cat stuff and the fact that they started the book with ' I'm so better than theses locals smh ' and the random anecdotes based off his transmigrator dad or something get old super fast. you have the usual forced conflict, mysterious past that can be used to get him out of trouble. a random amount of money from his backstory that we know nothing about. then using that wealth to buy the affections of a new party member. There was literally another party that went in a dungeon to retrieve the fragments at the goodness of their hearts then he is like nope - you get money - I get credit... then this blighted status shows down the entire novel. we get it he has a bloody desiesed apparence we don't need every - single - character to comment 🙄 about it geez 😒 . The dungeon stuff was boring as well, nothing standing out the choices are decided beforehand and the other options are examples of what other walkers have.

tldr : formulaic boring book.

Started out good got weird near the end

The book started out good but kind of got wierd near the end. It made me lose some respect for the the characters and question why I bought it in the first place. The less I know about the better.

Great start but a little gag worthy at the end

This book disappointed it started great, well written even though I hadn’t read the preceding related books. I have no problem with non-standard relationships but the last 1/3 of the book was basically just discussing their feelings for each other. I really wanted to like it but it was just horrible.
