Publisher's Summary

You think you know what is right and what is wrong? Then tell me if this man should die. He is my enemy. He is to be my end. He is the one I love. I have spent my life in shades of gray. I have died and returned to a world of color. I have fought an angel and lived. I have kissed the Prince of Ravens. I have faced the Lord of Night and made him kneel. I was accepted into the Four Orders, and I created the fifth. I freed the Shadow of Rome. I sat upon the Twilight Throne. The man asks for my surrender. He asks for peace. He is too late. The girl he knew is gone, and death is in her place. I am Nightfall, and this is my story. You think you know it? Think again.

Gave up 2/3 through

I ended up quitting the book... It just felt pieced together to me. It's like the author didn't have a great idea, so they took pieces of other stories and tried to make them fit together to make something new. It didn't work for me. I kept wondering when it would get better or be over, so I just stopped.

There's almost a batman feel to it - the beginning is set when the girl is 9 years old, then 13, then 18. Her parents are killed in front of her. She wants revenge, gets a secret identity, trains with new skills and joins a rebel group while still pretending to fit in with main society. Her grandfather tells her she's rich from inheritance and she has a secret base of operations. Her best friend/crush interacts with her normal and secret identities, but doesn't realize they are both her. She is young but tries to act like she is much older and has all the answers. Makes promises she can't keep. She is too presumptuous.

There are nephilim in the story. They are supposed to be children of angels and humans, but they nephilim can also turn humans into them, which doesn't make much sense to me. They have fangs and drink blood to survive. Vampires?

Spectacular!

The story is gripping and sophisticated and really relevant. Also the narrator really brought Scarlett to life. It was like going to a theater. Anyone who liked Divergent or even Lord of the Rings would love this book!

I NEED more!!

I loved the only 2 books of this series. Where’s the love? Where’s the rest of the series?!?! I can’t take this. Give us what we want! Give us the rest of this series.
For those that will just roll your eyes and say for me to just read a physical copy…. I’m a truck driver and audible is like the jam to my peanut butter.

court of nightfall

this is a story that will pull you in and just not let you go. everyone has their own agenda and you are not sure exactly what is going on for the first half of the book, but the second half things pick up and start to come together... even if you still aren't sure who can be trusted

4th time im listening

this is the 4th time im listening to this series and I wish desperately for it to be completed and all put on audio. figured since I've listened and read it so many times I should leave a review which I never do. but this book.... this series is definitely worth your credit, your time, your laughs, and your tears. I know this isn't grammatically correct but quickly done I just felt compelled to share with u all how much I loooove this series.

Exciting and teeth clinching

I very much enjoyed this supernatural dystopia. The narrator does well with voices and accents.

sometimes the voices changed who they were supposed to be and it didn't make sense. but it was overall good. it's another post apocalyptic novel.

Good, but ...

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I'd recommend it but I'm afraid we'll not get anymore in the series because the authors changed the primary character in book 3 forcing a different narrator, different voice, etc. Bad form in my opinion.
