Publisher's Summary

Ash led a very normal life by his own standards. It had its ups and downs, much like anyone else’s. Being a talented martial artist had definitely been an up, while high school as a whole was a down. His own father was not a great role model, and his uncle was everything he wanted to be.

To Ash, it felt like a very normal life. Right up until he was literally pulled into a portal that spat him out into another world. One that was full of martial arts. And martial artists who could use magic. To set the very air on fire with a punch or to turn their skin hard as diamonds. To fly through the air, if they had enough power. A world where the strong ruled and the weak died.

Three years of living his life as one of the citizens, those without power, and Ash has figured out how to survive with his adoptive family and a lot of persistence. His goals in life have become to give back to those who gave to him. And he’d do whatever he had to to do that.

Except Ash is about to get his life turned around again. Turned around and altered completely. He’s about to discover a treasure from a time long lost. Forgotten. A treasure that is going to change his destiny and give him another direction to go. If he wants it.

A cultivator.

This is a VeilVerse novel. Warning and minor spoiler: This novel contains graphic violence, undefined relationships/harem, unconventional opinions/beliefs, and a hero who is tactful as a dog at a cat show. Listen at your own risk.

I love this book

A bit much of only girls in my party and they are all mine vibe, but other then that I loved it.
A bit more of a deep dive in to making and building stuff and less looking at girls and it would have been a clean 5/5

Definitely something new

I certainly enjoyed listening to this book. Definitely saw the simularities from another author Virlyce and his Godking's Legacy, but it was definitely made its own in this story. I'm certainly interested in hearing the next book when it hits Audible.

I Couldn't Turn It Off!

From the moment I pick this up I couldn't turn it off. It didn't matter if I was on the treadmill or making dinner, if I didn't need my ears I was immersed.

Another good book!

I was a bit hesitant about the cultivation theme because it can get boring, but the book turned out to be another fine work with good pacing and action. If you liked any of his other books you will probably like this one. The narration is also on point and deserves applause. I'm looking forward to more books in this setting and hope the one from Blaise Corvin can match it!

MC is WAY too overpowered.

it's well written, Andrea's performance is great, the story is pretty good, and the supporting cast is..... okay. The MC though? I've got 3 hours left in the book and I'm bored to tears. Outside of a brief struggle in the beginning of the book he seems to face no challenge whatsoever. If he faces a trial at the end of the book I'll never know because I cant stand to finish it.

like most Korean cultivating manha

the book is a nice and fresh take on the cultivating but missis the mark. the authour give the mc a unique treasure with a world of possibilities but the mc dosent take advantage of it. he could learn any trade of skill and instead just kinda trundles along not taking advantage of. the main character says he dosent want to be a cultivator but he's sort forced along the story to become one it's a little annoying. when he has the ability to become any kind of craftsman. another small problem is the tiny time slips used though out the book. I did enjoy the characters and the little harem that's being built buy the mc ane his approach to them. they use a few references in this book i enjoyed if you've heard the authors other books

I'm sure some people might like it

This is a specific genre.
Basically it's like listening to someone "level-up" in a role-player game.
"If you go this, 2 points for ability X. Choose that, 5 points for ability Y"
This type of story has been getting pretty popular, I'm sure some people love this kind of story.

Absolutely love this new series, Andreau ftw!

Loved it, and eagerly awaiting the sequel. sincerely wish blaise corvin other veilverse was available on audible.

my first wuxia litrpg fantasy. very clever characters, riveting plot and excellent narration.

my only gripe was Yui voice was anime-ishly high pitched and squeally everytime, and i noticed it every time she spoke, even during her more emotionally heavy moments.

Overall, Andrea Parsneau smashed it, as she normally does and William has created another the sky is the limit power/abilities system, rooted it in very strong world building, and left open tons of mysterious and lore to explore.

this sequel when announce is headed straight to my wishlist.

Ahh Typical William D Arand(but that’s a good thing)

It starts slowly but then it really pulls you in. The main character is a quite funny guy who fortunately doesn’t act like a unaware of anything little boy, he even says so himself which I found quite funny. I can’t wait to see what will happens in the next book as knowing William he will do another trilogy.

hard to put down

loved this book, the story really captures my imagination and I want to hear more,

the only problem was that there seemed to be places that were missed and not included in the story and then picked back up again the next day or hours later and I feel it would have been more engaging to include these parts.

slow

I found this book very slow to get going and in the beginning it was my perception that it didn't establish the story or main character that well against the backdrop of the summary ... once into the book though the concepts were interesting if not quite stereotypical.

Loved it!

Huge fan of William D. Arand and Andrea Parsneau. There is a common theme that repeats in most of their books. The main character can be a bit dense though...

Cultivating Chaos Awesome

William D Arand show what a talented and skilled author can do with this book it well written and informative the characters a greatly influenced by the MC who started off as a talented mashal artsy and find him self in a new world after a chance discovery his life changed greatly and with the narration talent of Andrea Parsneau the story only got better with Andrea voice acting giving life to all of the characters and story this book is a 12/10 stars I will definitely buy and own this book and the next.☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆.
