A useful audiobook

If you could sum up Homemade Beauty Products - The Definite Guide to Looking Naturally Beautiful in three words, what would they be?

I bought this book for my wife but I have enjoyed listening to it as well. I was surprised to find out how many common beauty products, that we buy every day, are completely unhealthy. I would recommend this guide to anyone who is looking for a cheap way of making their own beauty products or avoid buying the ones that are potentially harmful. We also made the teeth whitener using the recipe from the book and it worked perfectly!

The revelation it brought into my senses and opened my eyes to see the truth.

Who was your favorite character and why?

There weren't characters, just the narrator. Her narration was perfect and she made the listening to be enjoyable.

What does Andrea Buchanan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She made the experience get more real, something that made me take the information to be more authentic.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was completely shocked to realize I was ruining my skin and hair unknowingly. Now I know better!

I was completely shocked by what I learned from this book. I have been using beauty products for quite a long time, never did I know the long-term effect they have. Looking nice is always a number one in my list, and therefore I have been a regular customer of the beauty products’ shops in the recent past. However, I was experiencing some problems with my skin that I somehow never thought were connected to the products I was using. All that opened my eyes was this book, which I came across just by luck.

I now live a natural healthy life and yet I look great. I have eliminated the habits that were holding me back and my life is now better, safer and easier. No more spots, and no more dry skin. The book helped me so much and I highly recommend it.

A must have guide

I was grossed out by the list of ingredients my make up contained. Which prompted me to go in search of other cosmetic lines, or to go o'natural or to make it myself. I discovered this Audio book on Amazon and began listening to it, I figured out how to make my own beauty products while winging myself off the cosmetics I use. It is was very much worth it, I've stopped spending so much on makeup and was amazed of how low cost the basic ingredients for the recipes were. This audio is very resourceful and I'm definitely going to suggest it to my friends. I liked this audio book so much I bought the ebook to go with it.

Lush recipes, Great for sensitive skin!

What did you like best about this story?

The recipes are fantastic and luxurious. Good enough (and safe enough) to eat! My skin is very sensitive and I was happy to find that these recipes don't aggravate my skin and actually leave me glowing! Plus they cost nothing compared to chemical based products. Great all around!

I really appreciated all the information about chemicals commonly found in expensive store bought skin products and am happy to find that there is an alternative that will work just as well. Because of my sensitive skin I always felt like I was missing out on the opportunity to have luxurious facial products. Even products that are marketed for people with sensitive skin cause me to break out in hives! Now I know I can make my own lovely smelling products without harming my body :)

Invaluable and Informative!!!

What an amazing little book! Ironically, I was listening to this as I was doing my hair and I found myself constantly checking the labels of each product as Ms. Buchanan read from the list of products to avoid -- as in, those that have been linked to a number of diseases and ailments. Thankfully, I didn't find any in the products I was using, but it really made me very introspective about what it means to maintain a beauty ritual.

Kate Anderson presents the case for looking to the Earth for more of our beauty needs, as opposed to spending ridiculous sums of money on cosmetics. I'll admit, I'm not ready to give up my Clarins just yet, but the great recipes included in the text for moisturizing skin, including HANDS, reducing inflammation, whitening teeth and more are just too simple to not at least give a try. I'm so glad I found this one. I didn't want it to end!!!

I got this for my girlfriend Cecilia who seems very pleased with it and the results it has been providing her skin…and I am very happy about the results it is producing with our bank balance as we are saving a fortune now!!!! For that reason alone I am giving this book a solid 5 out of 5!

5/5. To be honest it took me two listens to really implement some of the advice, tips and ideas but once I got off my ass and started to do it, i found myself not only saving a heap of money but really improving my skin and beauty regime.

Awesome book! I never thought I would be the sort of person to create my own beauty products but I was interested for a few reasons - wanted to save money, wanted to save waste and i was very concerned about the amount of chemicals and nonsense they put in products there days. I thought creating my own would be messy and time consuming but i was totally wrong. SO much easier than i thought and definitely worthwhile. I wasn’t sure how well this book would work in audio format but it really did.

I personally preferred it on audio, yes, was much easier to follow it that way.

Shock, when you learn the facts in this book you will be shocked. Funny how using simple cleaners can be so much better than expensive products but then their PR is not as goo.
