Mil Sci-fi/space opera blend with depth of characters

Solid story by Hopper and Chaney continues. This is a very interesting blend of mil-sci-fi and space opera. Don’t expect pure mil sci fi like some books are. And don’t expect pure space opera. But do expect a great mix of both, a well written book, and a fun new complex universe.

I enjoy series like Star Wars (Zahn), Galaxy’s Edge, The Dark Tower, Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones), etc and this series is right up my alley.

Fun and interesting characters that have depth and are really great to see how they interact together. Creative sci-fi elements and story line (not all sci-fi stories have this, that’s for sure.)
Nice humor scattered throughout.

Looking forward to the rest of this 9 BOOK SERIES!!! YES!

RC Bray does great job as usual.

Best Sci-Fi on Audible. Love it - story!

They better make this whole 10 book series to Audible and make a TV series on Netflix or Amazon! Great original characters, surprising story, twists and experiences! The characters make Star Wars look like the Teletubbies! As the authors say online, this isn't great literature - rather it is great genre creating a new high - better than Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica (new version), Halo, at the level of Aliens or higher. I can't say how much I lost hours of sleep listening to this at night only to be surprised over and over. The writers are brilliant, RC Bray at his Emmy winning Best (what are the awards for audio books?! RC does his best among multi well written characters, great action, and plot twists... Book 1 was Great. Book 2 is Incredible. I know it can't last like Star Wars - but so far - it's just getting better. Lets hope the Audible book sales and 5 star reviews make RC and Audible hurry up under our Corona Lockdown to do all 10 books, as this is the best 1-2 hours a day that I get up for or go to bed for with Alexa reading RCs soothing voice with incredible action. Seriously, glad RC hasn't made it in Hollywood as an actor, but has made it as the best Voice Over Characters ever! I nominate RC for a Voice Over Academy Award as well as the writers for best writers! Keep it up PLEASE!

Outstanding in every respect!

Having been a military Sci-Fi Audio Book fan for several years now and a loyal R.C. Bray fan. I found the first two books in the Ruins of The Galaxy series more than met my exacting standards for great audio books in this genre. The obvious next question is when will the rest of the series be available in audio format?

Wonderful follow up.

I can't wait for the 3rd one to come out. Characters, action, very little language.

It's Even Better Than the Last!

Holy splick!

I didn't think Hopper and Chaney could outdo themselves, but they did.

And, R.C. Bray? Playa, please.

Don't get me wrong. Book 1 was awesome, but this one is several steps up in quality of storying telling and pacing. Maybe it's more like they had to set up the universe in book one, and then this was is pedal-to-the-metal, hold on tight installment? Either way, I love it.

I really like the serialized storytelling. It feels more like I'm binge-watching a new TV series than ready stand-alone books. This is a cool new approach, and one I hope catches on.

Lots of great action in this one too. As Hopper says in the Author's Note section, he and Chaney were definitely inspired by military history, and it shows. And yet they managed to balance it well with Awen's continuing story in metaspace.

More like this gents, please! The people have spoken.

now that's what I'm talking about

Bray really brings this series to life! Honestly, book 1 had me hooked, but I wasn't sure the second book would be as good. Thankfully, it's even better. I can't wait to see where this storyline goes and what Magnus gets up to later. I strongly suggest picking this up if you liked book 1. It's amazing!
