Straight Forward and Insightful

Would you listen to Overcoming the Five Dysfunctions of a Team again? Why?

I am listening to the book again, in fact second time through. It is an excellent resource and inspires me to keep working on helping my team and I to build trust and overcome the dysfunctions discussed. .

What did you like best about this story?

The tools. Mr. Lencioni takes the time to speak of the dysfunction, leverages examples to showcase how the dysfunction impacts the team, and then what tools a facilitator or leader can use to overcome the dysfunction.

If you a leader, a team member or business educator, read this book. One of the very best books I have read.

Narration not bad as mentioned in another review.

I almost didn't purchase this audio book due to the popular review that says how terrible the narration is. I'm glad I purchased, and it was not distracting. It was very informative and to the point. I also had a few ah-ha moments, which I always hope to find in this type of book. I plan to use many things outlined in this book, and Im also likely to buy a hard copy for easier reference.

Great Resource for Team Building

This is a sequel to Lencioni's The Five Dysfunctions of a Team. Although Lencioni does not use the fable approach as in the first book, he outlines much more detail of the model and how to create more functional teams. He opens the book with an overview of the model and then proffers two key questions for work groups to ask themselves: 1) Are we really a team? (That is, are we interdependent and hold each other mutually accountable?) and 2) Are we ready for heavy lifting? The implication here is that this model won't work if the group isn't truly a team nor will it be successful unless the group is willing to put in the time and effort it takes to function effectively. The remainder of the book goes into details regarding tools and exercises for each of the dysfunctions. Although it's a bit drier then the fable approach, it's a great resource for anyone looking for ideas about team building.
