Publisher's summary

The benefits of mindfulness are well recognized: greater peace of mind, less stress, and the opportunity to work through and transform thoughts, memories, and worries. It also fosters equanimity, helping us accept the changes and challenges life brings.

In our frantic world, who better to guide listeners through this transformative practice than a long-beloved bear who has perfected the art of simply being?

"Just two things to do to truly be Pooh - just be present and kind," he says.

And, not coincidentally, he lives in the woods. There is a growing acknowledgment of the benefits of deeply experiencing nature. The calming quality of sounds like running water and rustling leaves, the soothing properties of smells like lavender and chamomile, and the emotional comfort of beautiful natural vistas are well known.

A Walk in the Wood is both inspiring and instructive. Simple stories with clearly stated goals and easy-to-follow exercises provide all the tools you'll need to take the first step, or continue on your journey, toward a quieter and calmer way of living.

Great review of mindfulness

I liked the calm quality of the narration. This book would be enjoyed by readers with prior knowledge of mindfulness and some experience with the Pooh characters. I enjoyed this book.

A blessing for Elijah and Jeremiah Mcintyre

it was an amazing out look at life. I entend to listen to it many times. And to practice what I have heard. As I live on a mountain in the middle of a forest. I'm 68 years young and life has slowed down to where it has become very enjoyable. I'm sending a copy to my grandsons. I hope my daughter reads it to them many times . Thank you!!!

Tao of Pooh and A Walk in the Wood

Listening to The Tao of Pooh before this book may have made it very difficult to enjoy this book. The narration is the weakest and is almost unbearable when he speaks as the A.A. Milne characters. While the other book easily allows the listener/reader to see the "wisdom" of Pooh, A Walk in the Wood feels very belabored in making the connection. However, I do applaud the attempt to enlighten and engage readers of all ages with the unconsidered wisdom in children's literature.

Worst waste of time ever!

I thought I was getting classic Winnie the Pooh and friends from my childhood. Instead we got gibberish,
Dr. Parent made up his own version of Winnie the Pooh stressing “kindness” in a simplistic rendition which he mentioned about 20 times in one paragraph which appeals to no one. Too many disclaimers also like before you take three deep breaths and exhale slowly, you must consult your pulmonologist! Ridiculous throughout. Not Zen either!
