Publisher's Summary
This program was previously published as Get Some Headspace: How Mindfulness Can Change Your Life in Ten Minutes a Day.
Quiet the mind, feel less stressed and less tired, and achieve a new level of calm and fulfillment in just ten minutes a day.
Andy Puddicombe, a former Buddhist monk, the Voice of Headspace, and the UK's foremost mindfulness expert, is on a mission: to get people to take 10 minutes out of their day to sit in the here and now.
Like his readers and students, Andy began his own meditation practice as a normal, busy person with everyday concerns, and he has since designed a program of mindfulness and guided meditation that fits neatly into a jam-packed daily routine - proving that just 10 minutes a day can make a world of difference.
Accessible and portable, The Headspace Guide to Meditation and Mindfulness offers simple but powerful meditation techniques that positively impact every area of physical and mental health: from productivity and focus, to stress and anxiety relief, sleep, weight-loss, personal relationships...the benefits are limitless. The result? More headspace, less stress. Andy brings this ancient practice into the modern world, tailor made for the most time starved among us.

Outstanding for a beginner
Any additional comments?
I suspect this book is too basic for people experienced in meditation. As a beginner, it was absolutely perfect for me! I highly recommend the headspace app as well which I used before I purchased this book. The app got me started meditating very quickly. Then listening to this audiobook gave me a more thorough understanding of the concepts that are described briefly in the app.

Life Changing
The Headspace Guide to Meditation and Mindfulness is a wonderful work! As a Christian pastor who deals with severe anxiety issues, I have searched for exactly what headspace offers (I even subscribe to the app now!). Admittedly, I was concerned about the potential of a heavy push for Buddhism. However, this was not the case. Andy presents the art and practice of meditation and mindfulness in a practical way. This practical presentation offers the benefits of mediation and mindfulness to anyone of any religious affiliation. I am currently up to 15 minutes twice a day, and I can say I have a new found ability to relate to my emotions both positive and negative. I highly recommend this book!

The best book on mindfulness.
I have been a user of the author's headspace app for over a year now, so I had a good idea of what to expect in this book. He is able to explain how to be mindful in a simple and understandable way. I've read many books by zen masters that I value, but I feel like I got more out of this book. It is narrated by the author and he does an excellent job. He tells personal stories that keep you engaged. Overall, I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in mindfulness and/or being more calm.

Full Of Good Mindfulness Tips
If you're just trying to get your distracted self into meditation or trying to get your high-anxiety parents to try it too, this is a great book. It simplifies the the core importance of the practice and eases the audience into its ideas with an awareness of the current culture and it's views of meditation and mindfulness in 2019. Moral of the story, the world simply needs more calm and more people to read this book and we'd all benefit from it. After reading, I've found myself trying to get a little better at being aware throughout my days and routine actions, recalling the sky is always blue in dark times, and also wondering if Andy is the same voice for the Gieco Gecko.

Like the best book or Mindfulness
Before you invest into Mindfulness, see the Wisecrack Episode for Mindfulness and how and why it works, and how companies are abusing it. Given that, this book hits the nail on the nose. Given the author has suffered (i.e. trained) as a monk before teaching how to use Mindfulness in the everyday life, it is a practical guide to inner peace.

This helped me tremendously.
I had toyed with meditatiin in the last few years. I didn't realize the beauty of it until I listened to this book. Because of this book, I am no longer a laizzes-fare, on again off again meditator. I have incorporated it into my life and have made great gains in headspace and determining the difference between what matters in life and what doesn't. The narrator/author's voice is calming and friendly. Sometimes I felt that I had a buddy next to me telling me the beauty of meditation and real-life stories to strengthen his points.

Andy Delivers
The only thing that I dislike about liking Andy's work and this book is that he's become "too popular."
It's against my nature to follow a popular trend or person.
That said, Andy sticks to his authenticity, both in life and in this book. I've read the hard copy twice, and have listened to this book three times. Andy's ideas, experience and voice keep this book alive, and functioning both as a tutorial and a compelling story.
A man, a monk and then a man again. That's the simple story.
But the longer story is of a serious student who spent 15 to 18 hours a day in meditation for 10 years. This man spent somewhere between 5 and 7 years in meditation. Full years, after allowing for sleep, travel and whatnot.
Andy's commitment to sharing his experience in meditation/mindfulness is not just some former monk cashing in on a good thing at a popular time. He has a great discipline in the manner used to communicate his accumulated experience. He reads and is committed to another great book, "Cutting Through Spiritual Materialism."
If you want to read a great book that can and will change the way you see the world, treat others, and care for and about yourself, this is it.
If you want to pursue the integrity of that experience, then read "Cutting Through Spiritual Materialism."
There are many books that can make you think. This one will allow you to deal with the silence between your thoughts.
