Publisher's Summary

When it comes to women, I know what they want. And all day long, I give it to them. Dark, broody, and sexy? You got it. Need to laugh? I'm your guy. Desperate for something to put you in the mood? You've come to the right place, kitten.

Every morning when my library opens, there's a line around the block, the ladies flocking to me in need of their next book boyfriend. I'm that dude. The one who knows his way around the romance section. And if you think that hasn't gotten me plenty of action over the years, you'd be wrong.

But I made a slight miscalculation at work, and now my reputation has my job in danger. If I can't prove to my boss that I'm more than a playboy who recommends romance in the hopes of getting some hanky panky in the stacks, I'm headed for the unemployment line.

Enter Parker Elliott. She rocks a mean guitar, she has no idea how sexy she is, and she's in need of a temporary fake boyfriend. Best of all? She doesn't have a library card. I couldn't have found a better fake fiancee if I'd written her myself.

Contains mature themes.

Great story but female narrator is terrible

I almost gave up the first few chapters bc her voice is terrible! I feel bad but it’s just awful. Joe kept me going and I’m so glad I did. Great story worth dealing w the narrator.

AWFUL female narrator

The female narrator ruined the audio book. The high pitched voice reading like she is in pain hurt my ears, I couldn't get past the first few chapters. Will have to read this one. Pity, the story line seems fun.

Need more Pippa Grant!

I loved listening to the audio of 'Stud in the Stacks'! It was funny and witty and made me laugh out loud at Parker's inner monologue and on occasion sniff back the urge to shed a tear. I loved Parker and Knox's romance and I loved that Knox was able to get so many to enjoy romance novels! His Grandma stole the show however each and everytime along with Parker's brothers! So wonderfully real.

I LOVED THE BOOK!!!!

I LOVED THE BOOK. However, Karen White's voice just doesn't work for me. I never thought of the heroine as whiney. Now I am scared for the rest of the series that I LOVE SOOOO MUCH. I tried changing the speed, to change the voice, but didn't work.
Please read this author. She/her writing is WONDERFUL.
Remember, this is MY opinion.

Funny and unexpected!

I’ve read this book when it came out and like everything Pippa Grant it was a funny story. Pippa’s metaphors and imagination goes beyond anything you heard before and she writes uniques characters. Parker and Knox tells a story about a guy who enjoys reading and recommending romance books and Parker needs help with her romantic life. These two along with brothers, grandmas and unicorn parties makes it for a very funny listen!

Pippa Grant is crazy funny!

I have read all of Pippa Grant but this is the first book of hers I’ve listened to! It is amazing! I love the male/female voices.....makes it not so weird when the narrator is trying to be both main characters. This is a fabulous series and a must read or listen to if you like to laugh fall I love and enjoy a HEA!

✫✫ 3.5 Stars ✫✫

This is a cute and sometimes silly story. The best thing about this book for me was Knox, he was witty, self assured and a little cocky but not in a bad way. He made me laugh a few times for sure. The story line was fun even if the base details weren't overly original. I think I could have loved this book if Parker was a completely different women. She was this books downfall for me. I'll be honest, there really wasn't anything about her characters that I actually connected with and/or enjoyed. She might be the most insecure women ever, especially one with 2 masters degrees and so driven by a career. She was a complete conundrum for me, how can someone with so much education still be so insecure and immature. I just couldn't wrap my head around her character even in the end. That's not to say others may not love her, I just have a love for strong female characters and she wasn't that.

The narration was 50/50 also for me. I like Joe Arden even if I feel like he made Knox cockier than he would have seemed if I had read this book LOL. But Karen White is not my favorite narrator, maybe her narration made me like Parker even less than I already would have. I'm not sure but I will say that her voice just didn't work for me.

Couldn’t wipe the smile off my face!

This is the first book I’ve experienced by Pippa Grant and I am so glad I did. Joe Arden and Karen White did an amazing job bringing this absolutely hilarious, sexy book to life. There’s nothing better than a hot male librarian by day and Mr. Romance blogger by night. He never dreamed he just might end up living out one if his own romance troupes. This is most definitely 5 stars!!

Loved this book

I loved the fact that he was sexy, nerdy and still confident. I loved how he made her feel and the confidence he helped her find in herself. my only issue was the female voice seemed like the more upset or anxious the story line was the faster she read and the louder she got. To the point it seemed like she yelling. Also, I kept hearing noise in the background and towards the end I could hear rain falling... I actually thought it was raining where i was at.

Great fun

Switching roles so he's the romance reader and she's the workaholic nerd really works in this book. The characters are fun and funny, the storyline pulls you in, you just want to know how things will get sorted between these two.

The secondary characters are fun too, I love Nanna, their friends, Ares and Zeus. I love their interactions. I laughed out loud many times through this book.

The readers are great two, they fit well with the characters.

Go test this book, if you like romance, if you like humour and if you love characters getting their happy ever after then this is for you.
