Publisher's summary

There are a million reasons why I shouldn’t date Fletcher Huxley.

He’s a growly-faced, stubborn-streaked, international rugby legend trying to revive his flailing career in the US after being canned by his team overseas.

While he might have the good kind of thunder thighs, intriguing tattoos, and a booty of steel, he also holds the top position on my very short nemesis list thanks to what happened the first time we met.

Plus, his mustache is as terrible as the reason he’s picked me to be the woman he wants to date.

But he has one big checkmark in the why this date is a good idea column: he’s my brother’s new teammate.

They already hate each other.

And my brother has made an unfortunate habit of interfering with my love life recently.

So a revenge date with Fletcher to make my brother mad? While letting Fletcher think this date is merely for the good of the team?

Yep.

I’m in.

I’m moving to London for work in a month. And it’s just one date. What could possibly go wrong?

Until It Was Love is a banter-tastic romcom featuring an overgrown snack of a man with a soft spot for his purse dog, a normally optimistic life coach trying to live her best life, a mustache catastrophe, and one little tiny fainting spell. It stands alone and comes complete with a swoony happily ever after that will leave your heart in a happy puddle of joy.

Is it all about the moustache?

I’m obsessed with Goldie and Fletcher and all their crazy shenanigans. This story had me snort laughing and smiling throughout. I never wanted it to end. Samantha Brentmoor and Jason Clarke did an incredible job bringing this dynamic cast of characters to life.

Great Banter

So many tropes in this book - hero falls first, brother's enemy, previous meeting, fake dating, and more. Goldie and everyone who sees Fletcher's mustache hates it since it looks awful. We find out why he has it and it's heartbreaking. The narration by Samantha Brentmoor and Jason Clarke is wonderful.

Here's to the Stache!

Pippa's books are always a hit for me. Until It Was Love was full of joy, growth, banter, and (of course) love. Excellent story and excellent narration.

Role Reversal

This wonderful book was a bit of a role reversal in that the heroine is the one doing the “saving”! I loved Jason Clarke’s narrating! Bonus was some British accents thrown in by both narrators!

love the dialog

Until it was Love's characters have charming dialog. I can't imagine how the author comes up with the scrapes the characters get into.

Hilarious and Heartfelt Narration!

Rugby romcom for the win! I was so excited to read Until It Was Love by Pippa Grant. When I found out Samantha Brentmoor and Jason Clarke were performing the audiobook, I knew I had to have this hysterical gem in my ears too. There is something hilariously magical that just hits differently with Pippa’s books in audio, and these two were WORTH IT. Samantha and Jason’s romcom chemistry is the best. From the comedic timing of Pippa’s witty banter to her swoony, heartfelt words, (with added Britishims) these two knew how to deliver. Samantha’s light, flirty tone added the perfect amount of sass and desire to portray Goldie’s persona while Jason’s deep growly timbre presented Fletcher’s arrogance and charm. Both narrators brought the longing and the heat with the slow-burn friends-to-lovers chemistry between Goldie and Fletcher. Also, can we talk about how adorable Samantha’s British doggie accent was to portray Sweet Pea in the Epilogue?! So much fun.

Great story and narration

This was an entertaining book that ticked all the boxes for me. This is Fletcher Huxley an international rugby player and Goldie Collins, the sister of one of his teammates.

I was intrigued when I read this blurb and could not wait to dive in. Fletcher and Goldie are meant to be together. This book was witty, romantic, and full of characters that you cannot help but fall for. From the first to the last chapter, I was taken on a journey that was entertaining and well written, with characters who you cannot help but become invested in.

Jason Clarke and Samantha Brentmoor did a great job with their narration. They brought the humour and romance to life with their performances. Their voices were easy to listen to and did justice to the story.

Laughs, swoons, and love

This is a masterful tale of healing, enlightenment and growth sneakily wrapped in a ridiculous romcom. It is story full of swoons, quirky seniors, mustaches, absurdity, drama, sweet moments, found families, dysfunctional families, spice, painful pasts, and love. And while the book is full on cackling snort worthy hilarious, it is also a deeply emotional book. At its heart, it’s a story of damaged and bruised but not broken people who find their way together by owning their choices, acknowledging their scars, embracing life as it shows up, and deciding to be the best version of themselves. It’s a story about healing and the power of choice. Fletcher is a famous rugby player from England who is not interested in retirement so instead he moves to small town Copper Valley in the US to play for the Pounders. Goldie is a life coach and author. She was on course to be a professional soccer player when a career ending injury changed her trajectory. She is moving to London for three months to be a life coach in residence and then she plans to travel for two years before she settles in a new place. Fletcher is on the same rugby team as Goldie’s brother, Silas, who he does not get along with. Fletcher and Goldie agree to a spite date aimed at Silas and that is where the hilarity, cringe, and feelings start. Despite the firm plan that it can only be a one time spite date it quickly grows into something much deeper and much more meaningful. But there is still a clock ticking down to an end date. But feelings. Oh the feelings in this well written book with an engaging storyline as told through the eyes of two beautifully complicated three dimensional characters who grow. There are lots of them. The book will hook you in from the first ridiculous word to the last heartfelt one and along the way it will give you all the feels so be prepared to fall in love with this book, and with Fletcher and Goldie.

Jason Clarke and Samantha Brentmoor did a phenomenal job narrating the story and characters into life with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly. I love the added dimension narration gives to a story.
