Publisher's summary

From USA Today bestselling author Pippa Grant comes a rollicking romantic comedy about a single mom and a grumpy math teacher tackling their differences on a Wyoming ranch.

I knew fixing up my life with a fresh start on the hobby ranch I inherited in Hell’s Bells, Wyoming, would come with challenges. Things like snow. Wildlife. Local gossip about why my daughter and I are here.

But the biggest challenge?

My surly new tenant.

He’s like a bear. Fascinating from a distance, but don’t get too close, or he’ll bite.

His personality should be a good thing. I have no need of a new man in my life. But he’s not only my tenant; he’s also my daughter’s math teacher and soccer coach. I keep running into him. He keeps thinking I need to be saved.

Maybe I do, but here’s what I don’t expect: he’s a fixer-upper in need of saving too.

And I might be the only woman for the job.

Hell’s Bells, help me.

Critic reviews

“Forgiveness and acceptance are at the heart of this humorous late coming-of-age romance, which argues valiantly that happy endings don’t require perfection, just love.”Publishers Weekly

Not a lot to recommend

Is anyone else sick of the angst and guilt of parenting being the main reason for book storytelling? I am, The spewing of thoughts throughout made me positive this person (author) is not funny, creative, or engrossing. I really just wanted to finish quickly to get the pain over. I like this author but this formula needs to be lost.

Not My Kind of Story

I normally love Pippa Grant but this o e was torture for me and I finally gave up with 1:56 to go. Male narrator was awful. His character was unlikeable. Heroine was so wishy washy. Just way too much angst.

Save your credit. This one is just not worth it.

Not my favorite pippa

I’m a huge Pippa fan. I’ve loved all her books. This one wasn’t my favorite. Connor Crais saved this one for me. I love his voice!!! Savannah was as always amazing too. I get the kids first as a mom but the “Junie first” throughout the whole book was a bit much. She was a brat. Overall story was great

I liked it

If you like a slow moving story, this is a good one… little to much inner thoughts, yet for the most part and enjoyable story
The heat is low, slow burn… I liked there was a lot to the story, some might find some of it a little repetitive… but love this author and I just enjoyed a low drama romance… narrators did a good job too

Monotonous whoa is me x2

I've liked other books by this author, but struggled to finish this one. The storyline was weak. Repetitive telling of the main characters' backgrounds. it's as if they were in a competition for most dysfunctional.

Never felt connected to the characters. Plot line was far fetched.

By the reviews many others enjoyed this but it wasn't for me. The narrators did a good job though.

Wow what a story

I loved it! Savannah Peachwood and Connor Crais brought the story to life. I laughed so hard at times I snorted. It’s a beautiful 2nd chance in life story. Love does conquer all. Also, Pippa has the best animals in her books. No one can compete with them. I feel like I could relate to Earl in a lot of ways 🤣.

These two…

Will have you chuckling a lot throughout their story. Maisey is a recently divorced, single mom to a sixteen year old, who just moved to the ranch her uncle left her. On their very first day, Maisey and her daughter, Juniper aka Junie, encounter a bear eating a dead cow outside of a cabin. They accidentally manage to get a man, Flint (the hero of our story) thrown off his horse by using mountain lion sounds from Maisey’s phone. If that’s the opening scene, you can only imagine how the rest of the story will read out. This story is adorable, will have you chuckling throughout and leave you with a smile on your face.

Connor Crais and Savannah Peachwood narrate amazingly as Flint and Maisey. Connor has such an amazing voice that it’s quite perfect for our teacher/soccer coach. Savannah fits perfectly as the new to town single mom.

Such a sweet story!

Loved this story! The annoyance to love. The single mom/grumpy neighbor. All of it was just so good!

Great story with some humor

Overall a great book. Good storyline, realistic and refreshing. Only negative is when the male narrator tries to sound like a turned on female in the heat of passion…it’s cringe worthy for me. But other that this book is the right blend of real life with a bit of drama and some great steamy moments with some humor mixed in.

Loved Maisey & Flint's story ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Absolutely loved listening to Maisey & Flint's story (special shout out for Earl the Bear too 🤣).
Both narrators, as always, did a fantastic job, and both are excellent at voicing both male & female characters, so there was no jarring voicing of the opposite sex.
I loved this book & will revisit it to listen more than once. Really would love to visit the same town again in future books (mentioning the name of it - likely the first word of the name - seems to be stopping Audible from posting my review, so I've taken the name out). I really hope that this will be Book One of a new series 😊
