Publisher's Summary

It's just a docuseries about your career as an OB/GYN, they said. It won't interrupt your life during or after filming, they said. It's a great opportunity for the hospital and your practice, they said.

Well, they - the television executives who seem intent on ruining my career and personal life with a fair number of creative liberties - lied. Now I'm stuck dealing with the consequences of believing them. Instead of being known as Dr. Will Cummings, head of obstetrics and gynecology at St. Luke's Hospital, I'm now being called Dr. Obscene.

What devotion I'd hoped to earn in respect, I've instead received in patients flashing me seductive smiles and flirtatious winks during their exams.

How's a guy supposed to convince the most perfect woman he's ever met that he's not as much of an idiot in real life as he appears to be on camera?

Contains mature themes.

A LOL SWEET ROM/COM DOCUDRAMA

Well what you get with this first book in the successful writing duo's new docuseries are great characters, lol humor, easy-flowing quick-witted banter, good secondary characters, some quirky very open-minded parents, sizzling instant chemistry, sexy times, a hot and very sweet Dr. hero and a competent Nurse heroine. What you won't get is a down-to-earth believable storyline with lots of rollercoaster drama intrigue and suspense.. and, at the moment, I'm 100% happy with that.

Successful OB/GYN Dr. Will Cummings didn't know what he was getting himself into when he agreed to do the tv reality show.. but, as soon as it started to air, Will came face-to-face with the impact and damage selective editing/splicing brought. Because it'd instantly brought him fame alright.. the wrong sort of fame.. fame for his sex appeal, his smouldering winks at women, his many flirtations with females and his 'behind closed doors' antics. Now there are whispers and giggles from his staff and fangirl patients who can't wait to have the hot doctor between their all too willing thighs. However things are about to change for the good doctor because his new nurse hasn't seen the show, hasn't met him yet and hasn't labelled him Dr. Obscene.

Twenty nine year old OB/GYN nurse Melody Marco had left her job and her ex and is now back living with her way too open-minded parents in NYC.. and it was her interfering good-willed mother who'd set up an interview for a nursing job that would change Melody's life and rock her world. Because, from the moment she is introduced to her new boss, the sparks between them fly and her libido is all too willing to act on their attraction.. but Melody manages to temporarily ignore it and tries to remain professional.. until the very compident compelling sexy doctor finally asks her out.

A very entertaining rom/com with a nice level of heat to heart and this writing duo certainly know how to inject humor into their scenes which all flowed well as Will and Melody got to know each other personally, professionally and sexually. But the angst came when Melody started to watch the much gossiped about show.. and (in her 'damaged before' mindset) the last eye-opening episode was the one that drove a stake right through her shattered heart. Can the distraught doctor alone mend a broken heart.. or will Will need a bit of help? Dual POV's and narration didn't totally suck.. but unfortunately Alexander Cendese can't do female voices well - in fact they were almost cartoonish.

Worth a credit? Yes.. even with its iffy narration, this book made a long commute go by in a fun filled flash.

I laughed so hard

1st I will focus on the upside of the book. It is so darn funny that I looked like a fool with my earbuds in and laughing to tears. The awkward in this book was hilarious.

Then there is the male narrator. He butchers the female voices. But the book is so good that I was able to over look the terrible version of his female voice. As just the male voices narrated, it was great. The female narrator nailed it.
WORTH THE CREDIT!!

Want to SMACK male narrator!

Love the story! Writing is great! Male narrator=bad female voice.. it's cartoon bad. Just speak softer/quieter. No need to lisp and shout, with what I assume is a puckered face.

SURPRISED BY ALL THE GREAT REVIEWS

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

If it was on sale it may be worth it but I really did not enjoy this at all. I thought is was "just ok"

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The male character initially talks about how he is so misrepresented, but that is not really true. I thought the female lead got mad over something that could have easily been talked out. Both narrators did fine with their own voice but they were both EARSPLITTINGLY AWFUL when they voiced the opposite sex.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No

Any additional comments?

There are way better options out there than this. All the other reviews talked of the humor... I thought it was pretty childish.

Promising, but ultimately dissappointing

No wayward billionaires, messed up geniuses this time, but a seemingly different take on a single OBG and the nurse who loves him. Don't know why. That part is just a given. The book has a few humorous attempts, but, generally, falls flat.

Male narrator is pretty good, female sounds like she's fifteen. One of those books where you keep hoping it will get better, but it just doesn't.

Funniest I've listened to in a while...

I would have loved it more if the story line was a bit more realistic... That being said this was funny, sweet and entertaining.

funny and heartfelt

really liked this book. had been hoping it would be on audible and was so excited when it finally was. I read the reviews the male narrator had a terrible female voice. I thought to myself "oh it can't be that bad." then I heard the female voice and cringed knowing I'd have to get over it if I'm going to endure it for 8 hours. his voice is fine otherwise. female narrator I liked a lot.

if you can overlook that, it is an enjoyable book. funny and heartfelt. if you read the summary then you know what it's about and should just read or listen to it. can't wait for the next book in the series that will have a different narrator, thankfully.

Below Par

I was disappointed with the lame dialog and the narrators. The male narrator's female voice was poor and the female narrator's male voice was poor.

I wish I loved this more

It was funny like people promised, but I didn’t love the story as much as everyone else seems to. The language in it just wasn’t for me, and I’m not talking about swear words, o swear like a sailor. I’m talking about the usage of a certain C word to describe lady parts! Lol! It wasn’t for me and it really put me off.

Great book, poor narration

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were great and it was great to see the Billionaires back from Max Monroe's previous series!. The narration let this down though. The male narrator was great at male voices but terrible at women's voices. The women all sounded like pathetic caricatures. It was a real shame cause he made Will sound like a real hunk.

Laugh out loud rom-com!

From the very start these characters were relatable and adorable, the storyline a hoot, and the narration fabulous.
These guys simply have the goods and deliver them brilliantly! Can't believe I waited so long to listen to this one... and perhaps the best indication of how good this is, for the first time EVER I was enjoying this book so much that I flipped to reading on Kindle whenever listening on Audible was impractical!!!

Max Monroe never disappoints!!! DR OB had me in fits of laughter and also cringing at all those awkward and inappropriate moments!!! I loved Will and Melody - they were both always in awkward situations that had me LOLing! I listened to the audiobook and the narrators were absolutely amazing!!!
