We all have one, so all should have this book!

Honest, compelling and emotionally engaging, this book is a very well-written story of a lifetime journey of learning to deal with so many problems that life throws at us. It is filled with “learn-from-my-mistakes” stories and advice that I find refreshing and entertaining. This book will stay with you long after you have finished listening it.

This book is fully loaded with essential informati

This book is fully loaded with essential information and wonderful ideas and is encouragingly interesting, and certainly thought-provoking. I will surely practice, develop and apply the principles written in this book. Now I know that emotional intelligence is the subset of social intelligence that involves the ability to monitor one's own and others' feelings and emotions, to discriminate among them and use this information to guide one's thinking and actions. And yes! I certainly believe and agree that EI is more important than IQ. And it is a characteristic that one can develop with time and practice. Thumbs up to the author!

Excellent explanation

Excellent explanations and value of possessing Emotional Intelligence, and much overlooked part of human relations. Very helpful for anyone involved in sales and marketing. Everyone should read this whether they are involved in sales or not, just for the sheer knowledge it imparts. The world could be vastly improved if everyone knew and understood this little know aspect of relationships.

Great insight into emotional intelligence

This book gave me what I wanted and this is something I will revisit as my career goes on......however, This took a little getting into. I don't mind saying that I had the paperback version on loan and was finding it very difficult to get into, thus the reason for downloading in audio. I found I listened while doing chores or in the car and am very glad I downloaded it. This was mostly a common sense book with lots of supporting examples. Worth a read/listen.

Useful Tools for Raising Emotional Awareness

What I liked best about this book is that it really does live up to it’s claim to move you from “passive learning to active practice.” In the beginning James Lee King introduces the idea of an emotions dictionary and then encourages you to create your own right there within the pages of the book. At first I was irritated by this because it seemed like a lot of work to track your feelings and triggers, but honestly, the tool really did help me to become more aware of my emotions. I also never really thought about how you could use awareness to “process yourself through” emotions. I also loved the list of questions for dealing with emotions like envy, sadness, anger and fear.

Really useful!

I really liked how this book explains emotional intelligence. There are countless definitions of emotional intelligence, but as what i understand that it involves perceiving, understanding, and regulating emotions. I’ve learned a lot from this article. I recommend this because it's a good reference and truly informative.
