Publisher's Summary

For the millions of adults diagnosed with ADHD, The Disorganized Mind will provide expert guidance on what they can do to make the most of their lives. The inattention, time mismanagement, procrastination, impulsivity, distractibility, and difficulty with transitions that often go hand-in-hand with ADHD can be overcome with the unique approach that Nancy Ratey brings to turning these behaviors around. The Disorganized Mind addresses the common issues confronted by the ADHD adult:

  • "Where did the time go?"
  • "I'll do it later, I always work better under pressure anyway."
  • "I'll just check my email one more time before the meeting...."
  • "I'll pay the bills tomorrow - that will give me time to find them."

Professional ADHD coach and expert Nancy Ratey helps listeners better understand why their ADHD is getting in their way and what they can do about it.

Love it, thank you

Thank you for creating this book. I was very young when I was diagnosed and my mom decided not to give me medication and not talk about it. I’ve been embarrassed of having it but didn’t really Now what it was. I’ve been so hard on my self for years and this book didn’t just liberate me but gave me solutions. I wish there was a section of school and College suggestions. That would really help

Good Info; Bad Narration

Who’s afraid of Virginia Wolf? I am. I will avoid audiobooks narrated by her in the future. It sounded like she was reading the book for the first time as she was recording her narration. I had to think about how else sentences could be said out loud in order for some portions of the book to make sense.

However, Ratey’s book is filled with great information for ADHDERs

Useful Teaching Stories creatively insightful

For the many adults who would be diagnosed if evaluated or who are receiving medical treatments of primarily medication, the behavioral coaching offered here in is very valuable information. The style is well explained by the stories of single emphasis focus. This is an excellent style for self improvement. Get it!

wouldn't recommend it

sounded more like a sales pitch and opportunity to brag than offer helpful advice. Returned.

Awesome wisdom four self coaching!

Loved the simple matter of fact truth that we all relate to each day and solutions for our chaos! Highly recommend for adults with ADHD, their spouses, their bosses, peers and subordinates. The more we can understand ourselves and each other, the better off our world will be! Ready to listen again in a place where I can take some notes...

Wish I had coaching before job loss

Very relevant ideas, many of which took me sixty years living with ADHD to discern.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

people who like making money of those who have ADHD

Has The Disorganized Mind turned you off from other books in this genre?

YES if this is one of the highest rated books on adhd i can't imagine what the other titles are like

How did the narrator detract from the book?

monotone and disinterested

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Disorganized Mind?

all of the we did this and we invented the universe claims

Any additional comments?
