Publisher's summary

Escape the grip of drama and take control of your life.

The Power of TED* (*The Empowerment Dynamic) is a fable on self-leadership, because how you lead your own life has everything to do with how you lead in other areas. It is a tool for both individuals and organizations who want to create more effective communication and relationships. Learning how to transform everyday drama and opt for more growth-oriented solutions, is the priceless gift it teaches.

As you walk with David, the main character, he shares how he is feeling victimized by life. Through serendipity he meets some wise guides, Ted and Sophia, who show David how he can move from feeling like a victim to being a creator of his own life.

The Power of TED* offers a powerful alternative to the Karpman Drama Triangle with its roles of victim, persecutor, and rescuer. The Empowerment Dynamic (TED) provides the antidote roles of creator, challenger, and coach - and a more positive approach to life's challenges.

The teaching story provides a guide for learning and growing through the challenges we all face in our lives. Its message resonates with everyone who, at some time in their lives, feel victimized by their situation.

Having helped thousands of people and scores of organizations over the past decade, The Power of TED* (*The Empowerment Dynamic) is being published in this 10th Anniversary Edition to convey a very timely message of hope that all of life, whether at home or work, can be transformed to create satisfying and fulfilling relationships.

Its message is needed now more than ever.

The 10th Anniversary Edition retains the powerful leadership story and adds three new sections:

1. A new Foreword by Lisa Lahey, Ed D, Harvard Graduate School of Education

2. New Study Questions for the Journey

3. A new Preface by the Author

Great Material, Not So Great Narrator

This is powerful and deeply thought provoking. Shame that the narrator is terrible. Do listen to this book as it will change your outlook on everything.

Simple and profound.

Absolutely phenomenal book, and a great delivery. I had no idea that it would have such an effect on me and my overall perception of the world we navigate, but it really is profound, although simple (note: not EASY... Simple)
Highly recommend for everyone!

The Dreaded Drama Triangle does not serve me.

We have the power to shift our thinking & exit the Dreaded Drama Triangle and going from Victim to Creator, Rescuer to Coach, Persecutor to Challenger.

Best self-help manual in the last 20 years!

To truly make a shift in one's life, from victim, perpetrator rescuer, dynamic to creator, challenger, and coach dynamic, is explained so beautifully through the storytelling, allowing the concepts to fully sink and helps wanna be able to practice them. Excellent book.♥️‼️

Once you know you can’t un-know

Having read (many years ago) and now listened to The Power of TED* we come back to the relevance and affect the knowledge David shares as that which once you know you can’t un-know any of it. Recognizing how the DDT roles manifest for each of us and knowing we have a choice in the roles we choose to play(especially the empowerment roles) in our lives is more than liberating - it’s life changing.

The application to life and work is profound - with the rapid pace of change, innovation, and at times tumult in each of our lives - knowing more about and practicing our power of choice everyday is a venture worth investing in.

Every person we have suggested the Power of TED* to has benefited from this wonderful work in some way. Thank you David and Donna for your contributions to making the world a better place.
