Publisher's summary

Discover the best 25 ways on how to use coconut oil for beauty, hair, health, increasing energy, and losing weight. These are the best 25 ways to create lasting health in your body with coconut oil!

More than 90 percent of coconut oil is saturated fats, along with traces of a few unsaturated fatty acids, like polyunsaturated fatty acids and monounsaturated fatty acids. Virgin coconut oil is no different. However, it's not bad for your heart at all! In fact, coconut oil has been proven to be healthy for your heart.

The saturated fats in coconut oil are mostly medium-chain fatty acids, which agree with the body's systems well. Lauric acid is the chief medium-chain fatty acid found in coconut oil, and represents more than 40 percent of the total, followed up by capric acid, caprylic acid, palmitic, and myristic acid. The body creates monolaurin from lauric acid, which is helpful in handling diseases and viruses. The capric acid reacts with enzymes that are created by bacteria. It's then converted into an antimicrobial known as monocaprin. Caproic, caprylic, and myristic acid are also antimicrobial and antifungal in nature.

The unsaturated fatty acids are polyunsaturated fatty acids and monounsaturated fatty acids. Coconut oil also has Gallic acid, which is also called phenolic acid. It also contains many different vitamins and nutrients that are important for your overall health.

The point is this: Coconut oil is very healthy for you and can be used as an antifungal, antibacterial, and antiviral. It helps with weight loss, digestive upset, and many other illnesses, as well as substitutes for beauty and hair treatment, and is great as an alternative, organic cleaner!

You can find out more about all its beneficial uses in this book, as well as a comprehensive guide on which coconut oils will suit your needs best.

Informative

This book is very informative. There is no pomp or polish, though. So don't look for that. The author is very direct. There's no companionable or conversational tone here. It's almost as though she searched online and collected all the data and presents it in this book. However, that's Not a bad thing. While, most books in this category put a little more into engaging the listener, too many end up sounding like infomercials that spend more time talking in circles about nothing then disseminating the information they claim to be giving.
If I had to choose between the two, this is better. There is a lot of information here on what's currently going around about coconut oil. And, where the text or writing is lacking in engagement, the narrator makes up for it. Alanna Williams voice is smooth, engaging, and very easy to listen to.

Great Little Summary of the Benefits and Uses

Where does Coconut Oil rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It is a good source of information on coconut oil and includes suggestions for use. The explanation of the different types of oil on the market along with the different processing methods used to create them is worth the price of the book. It includes a brief summary of the studies done on coconut oil and heart disease and the reason for this erroneous attack in the U.S.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Coconut Oil?

Some of the uses for coconut oil that were new to me were a guitar string cleaner, a natural lice treatment, removing crayon drawings from walls, a hair detangler, and under eye cream. I have naturally curly hair and the detangler really worked. I plan on trying the guitar string cleaner and the under eye cream soon.

Which character – as performed by Alanna Williams – was your favorite?

Alanna Williams gave a good performance and was easy to listen to. It is a nice short listen while making dinner or cleaning the kitchen.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

How to Avoid Heart Disease and Lose Weight by Using Coconut Oil.

So Many Excellent Uses for Coconut Oil

I'm so glad I listened to "Coconut Oil" as I'd been hearing about it and wondering about it for some time. My interest was especially piqued when recently my daughter told me she uses it on her dog and she even put some in his food. I was like...huh, why?! So, after listening to this book, I get it. I'll be trying it myself now. The uses are endless.

This book tells you what it is in detail. It's a medium chain fat which helps aid in weight loss and boosts metabolism but that's just for starters. Coconut oil is good for you inside and out and works as a natural antibiotic, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal.

You'll learn of the best 25 ways on how to use coconut oil and I'm sure there's more. I think this book is a no-brainer. You can't go wrong as it tells you how to make and use things with coconut oil. It's descriptive and easy to understand. Loved it!

Alanna Williams did an outstanding job reading this book. She has a nice, positive voice and made it an enjoyable listen. Kudos for both author and narrator.
