Sexual Violence is Not a Joke

Having enjoyed most of the books in this series, I was incredibly disappointed when several characters were joking about sexual violence against women. I never imagined that Jackson or his male friends and/or family would hit, humiliate or degrade a woman.

More importantly, the women in most Bluegrass books have been strong, confident and intelligent, not the type to allow domination and physical abuse. Not sure why Ms. Brooks seems to be promoting the idea that women should be submissive and stupid.

FYI, hitting or being hit by a lover is not an erotic or romantic experience. Domestic violence usually accelerants until someone is seriously injured or dead - so not sexy!

Wonderful.. keep them coming

These are my favorites to listen to. The narrator does a wonderful job keeping the story moving.

Worth the wait!

OMGGGG! I have been waiting for a new book from this series and MAN, oh MAN!!! I’m actually still listening to Forever Freed but I had to take a minute to give BIG kudos to Kathleen Brooks for (another) JOB WELL DONE!! From the very first book in the very first series; I’ve wanted to move to a place like Shadows Landing & meet/have friends like these!

Keep’em coming, Kathleen! These books are an escape for me. I’m a stay at home mom of a 12 & 5 yr old (& 2 fur babies). These books transport me into another place!

Another great book from Kathleen Brooks

It’s always great to return to Kingston, Kentucky Ms. Brooks knows how to balance suspense with humor.
This book is no exception. I enjoyed it very much!!
Eric G. Dove is a wonderful narrator!

not on of the authors best

Getting to read like all the others, I enjoy the family saga but I feel I can start predicting every move!

LOVE THIS WHOLE SERIES

You already are part of the Kingston family so you have to keep listening. As always you get sucked in and can't stop.

I don't know why I put off listening to Jackson & Evie's story. It was just as good as all of Kathleen Brooks' other stories. I keep thinking that eventually I'll be disappointed but it hasn't happened yet. She just has a way of weaving a terrific story. Of course when you have such excellent characters as those from Keeneston, how can you go wrong. I want to live there.

I was surprised and happy that this story incorporated Shadows Landing as well.

Ms. KB please don't stop writing books and please always have Mr. Dove or Ms. Plummer narrate your books. This one was as good as all of the others. I laughed and enjoyed it so much. Very nicely done can't wait to listen to more. please put a few more of your books on Audible Escape so us members can read them there.

Another great story and audible

What can I say...I love Kathleen Brooks Bluegrass series...and Jackson and Evie’s story is no exception. And Eric Dove does his usual great job! I get the ebook first and then I get the audible...they are that good! Now the downside...waiting for the next book!

Kathleen is my favourite author ever! Not only are her book addictive, Eric has the most amazing voice and could not think of the audio books without him he has a voice that make you instantly relax. Thank you both for taking me on a fun action packed journey with the family I would love to have.
