Eager for a fresh start, I make a somewhat unorthodox decision and move to a tiny town in the Sierra foothills. I'll be taking care of a centuries-old house that called to me when I was a kid. It's just temporary, I tell myself. It'll just be for a little while.

That is, until I learn what the house really is: something I never would've thought possible.

As my new life begins, a couple of things become immediately clear: Forty isn't too old for adventure. Not by half. It is too old to take crap from anyone, however, or care what people think.

I had no idea how incredibly freeing that could be. Or how dangerous this new life would become.

I have a chance to start again, and this time, I make the rules.

K.F. Breene smacked this one out of the park!! A fantastically written book about life changing events at 40. The characters are amazing, the story is spot on, and you'll laugh til tinkle rolls into your shoes.

I absolutely loved this book!

I did not expect this book to make me laugh so much! It was never a dull moment. The narrator is phenomenal! Her voices are so dynamic and multidimensional. The story line has so much depth and many places to go. I totally identified with the character. It's a brilliant story. I am so ready for the next story.

A serious must read for anyone in the middle of a change in life. Listened while shopping, weird looks followed me as I laughed and smiled at the witty banter. I want to be the caretaker of Ivy House. Can't wait for more in the series! PWF authors ROCK!

I haven't laughed this hard in a long time.

I love everything about this book! A must read. The characters are full people, the narration is spot on, and I now want to live in their world.
