A Keri Bevis classic!

A Keri Bevis classic. Solid story, very thrilling. Some of the British common language distracted from the story a bit but it didn't have much of an affect. good story

Kept me entertained until the end. Had many twists and turns in the plot. Loved this book!

This book deserves ALL the stars!!

Fast paced, action packed...an abusive, psycho ex, a stalker...and a hottie police chief! You get it all in this book. Well written and captivating. Definitely a re-read/listen!

Amazing, heart bumping thriller

Extremely catchy story including love, betrayal and horror! Pure horror! Really recommend it! You’ll love the excitement of it!

You won't want to put it down!

I really enjoyed this book. I have only one complaint....The sex scenes are very graphic! The writer could have toned it down a bit. Other than that, well let's just say that I didn't want to stop listening and would stay up very late!! I hope you find it as consuming as I did!

Great Book; Terrible Narrator!

I have been devouring Keri Beevis books ever since I got the thriller boxed set on sale, which is why I can give this book four stars before I even finish it. I am absolutely loving her right now! However, I am having so much trouble getting through this book because the narrator is so distracting.

First of all, you can clearly tell she's an older woman, and I just can't stand when they use older narrators to play younger characters. Second of all, she struggles to differentiate her voices between characters, so it can get confusing, especially when she's doing the male voices. Thirdly, when she does try to differentiate the characters, she throws in this tacky Long Island accent. But the real kicker is that half the time, she forgets about it. And then if there's a part in the book where it mentions Purity Island, it's like she suddenly remembers and then tries using the accent again. Very inconsistent.

I don't know how to explain why her voice is so grating, but it's extremely distracting, which is making it very hard for me to get into this book like I did with the others narrated by Shakira Shute. She also struggles with putting the right tone in her voice to match the correct emotion she's supposed to be portraying. I don't know. She just drives me crazy, and if this wasn't a Keri Beevis book, I wouldn't finish it.

DARK BUT NOT TOO DEEP

Not a bad story. Anything on an island is more intriguing.
However, it was predictable. It was evident Caleb wouldn't make it, that he would be a victim. When Luke mentioned the woman who helped Nell that gave it away. Subplots were a little shaky and the author should have stayed awake in English class.

Overall Decent

Decent book, enjoyed the story and twists, but the last 1/4 of the book came way too fast. It would have been better if it was drawn out a little more, not so much craziness one after the other after the other. Overall good though. Definitely keeps you guessing. The Caleb angle, was cut too short almost like he was forgotten about and then remembered and squeezed in here and there. I expected more with Caleb and Alex though (or Caleb and any other of the main characters).

Love the author, not her best

I love, love, love this author, but this wasn't her best. A few plot points were resolved too quickly after so much build up and the story just wasn't up to her normal, well thought out story. Also, the narrator's voice was just grating, she made a good attempt to adjust voices, but her natural voice is irritating and adds nothing to the story telling. If you are a fan of the author and, like me, want to enjoy her entire collection - then given a listen, if you are new to this author, give this one a pass, there are far better stories with some AMAZING narrators.
