Publisher's Summary

Who wanted her dead?

Having rescued Cassidy McKnight from kidnappers in South America, Gabe Sinclair thought his job was done. Not that the former Navy SEAL could ever forget the brave, beautiful single mother. But when the danger followed her home, Gabe promised to protect her. Why anyone would want to kill Cassidy was a mystery. Was the motive related to the orphaned toddler Cassidy was raising, a sweet little girl who brought out the father figure in maverick Gabe? Or did a newly revealed family secret have killer consequences?

IF YOU LIKE BIBLE-THUMPING, THIS BOOK'S FOR YOU

If you're any religion other than Christian, you might want to avoid this book. The description is misleading. Whereas the book started out interesting, at some point, the author put on her clerical collar and ... Oh, Good Lord! No pun intended. NOTE TO THE AUTHOR: You do realize there are many paths to God, right? Christianity is only one path. Here are some other paths for you to consider: Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Confucianism, Taoism, and Judaism... Why are you trying to force the reader to ascribe to Christianity? And that question comes from a Christian; however, I respect all religions and certainly don't force my beliefs onto others. I was disappointed by this book on so many levels.

Love Lynette Eason

I always give Lynette Eason’s books all 5’s. Sorry to say Romy Nordlinger the narrator’s voice was too “Breathy” character. I liked the male voices and she was perfect for Alexia’s voice.
Romy might be fine for other books.
The story and plot was good. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series but I won’t buy it if Romy is the Narrator.

Story line was ok but to "churchy" for me.

I wish there was a way to show that a story line includes Christianity or other religious stuff in the stories. This is just isn't my cup of tea.

Interesting Mystery

The story was pretty good. Some of the details of the escape from Brazil were a little
less than believable. Cassidy's judgement at times was not very smart.
The narrator was OK but I did not like her child's voice ! It was a little too
cutsie for my taste . Maybe it was the dialog too, she did NOT sound like a 2 1/2 year old!
I have read a lot of Lynette Easons books this was not among my favorites.

Sample First!

I think this could have been a good book, but I will never know because I couldn't get past the awful narration. This narrator's voice was too high pitched and nasal-ly for a suspense book, and all of her characters sounded the same, so I had trouble distinguishing who was talking, when. I returned it before the end of the second chapter. Make sure you listen to a sample before purchasing!

LIKE THE AUTHOR, CAN'T LISTEN TO THE NARRATOR

I like this author's books but this narrator's voice grates on my ears, I had to stop and not finish the book.
