Sweet Story

This is the third book in the Cowboys and Debutantes Series. This is a short, sweet historical Western romance. I loved Eamon and Emily's story. They are both great characters. Their story was sweet and heartwarming. I loved their HEA. I also loved to see again Hazel and Dalton from the previous book. I can't wait to listen to the next book in the Series, Parker's story, and to have more news about Hazel. This story can be listened as a standalone, but because the characters are interconnected, I highly suggest you listen to the entire Series in order. The narrator has a good voice, that perfectly fits into the story. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Emily and Eamon

Eamon Williams made a life-changing decision to quit his job, he was an accountant in a big city practice, but he's going to Georgia to The Cotton Tree Rance to become partners with his brothers, he's going to raise horses and be his own boss.

Emily Zhu is a surgeon who has just finished her residency and is about to commence her dream job at the hospital in Boston where she has completed her training. Emily is visiting Cotton Tree Ranch for her best friend Hazel's marriage to Dalton the eldest Williams brother. She has plans to stay for a few days holiday before heading back to her busy life.

She and Eamon are attracted to each other but she thinks that his smile is for everyone, she thinks him a flirt and doesn't take him seriously. But when it comes to her Eamon could really become a one-woman man.

Emily's job falls through, it's been given to the son of some member of the board and she's turned down every other prestigious position she had been offered. How will she tell her parents who think that being the best and working for the best hospital is a must, anything less will bring shame to them!

She decides to stay at the ranch for a few days and think about what she is going to do with her life, but the slower pace, the quiet town, the open spaces and Eamon work their magic on her and she finds herself applying for a General Practitioner position in the local town where she plans to work for a year while also doing general surgery in the hospital there which she believes will help her obtain a more prestigious position next year.

During her stay at the ranch, she and Eamon become close but she runs scared and tells him they are too different. She returned to Boston to tell her parents her plans - needless to say, that did not go well! Emily is determined to honor her contract in Georgia and live the life she has chosen for herself. But what will happen when she returns, how will Eamon fit into her plans?

I really enjoyed this story, it flows really well, the descriptive writing style of Vivi Holt brings the ranch and the people to life and when I closed my eyes I could see the pastures and feel the heat of the Georgia Summer.

The narration by Dawson McBride is excellent, his voice is versatile and smooth to listen to. I loved everything about this book, I have already listened to Dawson's story now I really want to listen to Parker's.

I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing this review.

Taking time to "smell the roses"

This was a sweet story about Emily and when she met Eamon. Emily is a sweet young lady that just finished medical school and is learning about relaxing. She worked so hard to be her best and to live up to her parent's expectations. The author did a great job of making her character real. Eamon was an accountant from the city that learned to relax by becoming a rancher. I love how both characters learned to take things in stride and just enjoy life. I felt like the story ended with some unanswered questions about the secondary characters, including how Emily's parents took her news. The narrator was great. His voice fit in with the relaxed tone of the book. I did have trouble understanding him when I first started listening. Overall this was a sweet book with a sweet romance.

Beautiful Story!

I so enjoyed this book by Vivi Holt! How can one not be pulled into a cowboy story that has such endearing characters and depth. I love how this author is able to capture the audience attention and keep it clean in a refreshing manner. Dawson McBride fits the narration perfectly with his rich smooth voice that sounds like a cowboy to my ears. I will definitely listen to more books by this author and narrator.

Love takes Courage

Emily is a from a Chinese family and her mother and father have planned her life out for her. Eamon is an accountant who came home to Georgia to help out his brother, but as far as I am concerned, Eamon is a gentleman cowboy. I loved this story of how Emily finds love and wants to live her own life for herself.

Doc and a Cowboy

Enjoyed the book. I am struggling to get use to listening instead of reading, but it was great to lay back and hear it told.
I recommend this book to all who enjoy a good clean read.

loving this series

This is a great story by Vivi Holt and I think I could listen to Dawson McBride every day and never tire of it. He's got a great voice that I refer to as Smokey that just makes him perfect as a cowboy. I've loved all the characters in this series and maybe since I'm a Georgia girl I have become attached to them. Emily seemed a stretch since she is a half Chinese Doctor from Boston but then the heart knows what it wants. Can't wait for the next on in this series.

Loved It

I got this ARC via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. This is another addition to the story of these brothers. I enjoyed Dalton's story and this one works just as well. I love how the author delves into some of the crazy stuff that society forces on people and makes it come out right. The narrator just made the story come alive and actually made me feel as if I was on the ranch participating in the story. The author/narrator combo is very good.
