Publisher's Summary

Antonio Sanchez is looking for his family.

His wife and daughter were headed to Montana Territory from Santa Fe, Mexico to join him in Paradise Valley. But he hasn't heard from them in a long time, and every day that passes his anxiety for their safety grows. As soon as the snow melts, he decides to travel back to Texas, their last known location, to see if he can discover their whereabouts. But bands of outlaws, disgruntled townsfolk hankering for blood, and drunken cowpokes turn his journey into an epic and dangerous adventure.

Lotte Veldon and her husband traveled all the way from Holland to Texas to start a new life as pioneers. But a tragedy leaves her stranded, alone and on the run.

When their paths collide on a dusty Texas road, neither of them realizes just how much their lives are about to change. When Lotte begs him to let her help find his family, he reluctantly agrees, but only until he finds her a more permanent place to stay.

Time on the road will fan the flames of affection and put both their lives at risk. Will Antonio find his family? And what will become of Lotte if he does?

Sweet and Hearwrenching Romance!

This is another great story from Vivi Holt!
This one has a bit more drama as both Antonio and Lotte are grieving and/or in the midst of a tragedy of losing their families. Lotte is stranded and on the run. Antonio is searching for his lost wife and daughter. Fate throws them together and they slowly find a connection and a growing friendship. Will Antonio find his family? What will become of Lotte then?
This story is sweet and compassionate and has an inspiring message about redemption and second chances.
I liked that the romance was very clean.
I recommend it to anyone who likes sweet western romances. Very worth the read!

Enthralling, Sweet & Clean Romance

Antonio Sanchez's wife Maria and his daughter Consuela were supposed to join him in Paradise Valley. But he hasn't heard from them in far too long so as soon as the snow melts, he decides to travel back to Texas, their last known location, to see if he can discover what has happened to them.

Lotte Veldon, her husband, aunt, and uncle have traveled all the way from Holland to Texas to start a new life as pioneers and just when they think they have made it tragedy strikes and she becomes the lone survivor of an Indian attack, with little more than the clothes on her back and her chances of survival poor.

When their paths collide on a dusty Texas road, neither of them realizes just how much their lives are about to change. Lotte persuades Antonio to let her accompany him whilst he tries to find his family, he agrees, thinking it will only be until he finds her a more permanent place to stay.

Their journey is long and hard and together they face many dangers, and all of Antonio's attempts to find Lotte somewhere to stay are failures and she remains steadfastly by his side. On their journey, they add to their party a child who has also lost her family.

This book is very well written and the story kept me totally engrossed. There were times I held my breath thinking "Oh No not more hardships" and times I rejoiced at some good fortune. They are both there for each other when they need each other most, but will that be enough? Can they both let go of their pasts and learn to love each other?

There is so much more I could tell you about this book but I'm not going to say anymore because it would totally spoil your enjoyment. You really should go in knowing no more than I have already said and become as enthralled by the story as I was.

I would, however, like to say how very well this story was narrated by Cody Roberts, so many accents and inflections were brought to bear to make this wonderful wide-ranging story a complete joy to listen to.

I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.

Attractive voice, clean romance, wild west

I do not do audio books often, but from the moment I pressed play on this one, I loved it. the story is gripping, the narrator has such a rich voice and a great ability for accents. I lost count of the number of accents he used, but they were all believable. And this story! It's got so many aspects of what I love about Westerns, and it's realistic and moving. I'm now a fan of the narrator and the author, and looking for more.

Great Story!

This is the third book in the Paradise Valley Series. I haven't listened to the first books in the Series. This is a Historical Western Romance. This story is well written and the storyline is intriguing and filled with mystery and suspense. This story kept my attention from the first page to the end. Antonio is a protective man and Lotte is a strong woman. We follow them in this adventure. Together, they are able to deal with this journey and their losses. I love their HEA and the Epilogue. The narration is well done. This was my first listen to Cody Roberts. He has a soft voice, easy to listen. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Lost in Laredo

Two people from very different lives are brought together by circumstances beyond their control... this is their story.

Vivi Holt has written an emotional story. Antonio and Lotte are both dealing with heartbreaking losses, but their time traveling together has given them both the opportunity to move beyond the pain and start over. The narration by Cody Roberts really added to my enjoyment.

Loved the story

The narrator was OK except when he was voicing the main female character who is from Holland. She sounded Irish not someone from Europe. He was not really good with doing accents. It didn't really bother me so much but it might for others.

The book I loved. It is not love at first sight but more getting to know each other and reflecting on their lives. It is a slow romance but other things happen along their journey which makes it more interesting. My only negative is I would have liked to know a bit more of what the characters are thinking when they do something and after the incident they act as if nothing has happened. For example they kiss for the first time and that is it. It felt like when two people are talking about the weather. You didn't get to know what they are feeling until further down the book. I also found the the main female character is not truthful. She let's the main character know she is going and when something goes wrong she comes back and says that she wants to be with him. I don't understand why she couldn't be truthful and then say she realised that she wanted him. Other then this I really liked this book.
I would recommend it to others since it is a clean read with little violence.

A great book

I really enjoyed this book. Not having read the first two books I had no problem with the story line. I had a bit of a hard time at first with the narrator being male and doing female voices but was soon entranced in the story and enjoyed the way he did all the voices.
This story is a romantic historical novel. The characters are realistic and they are brought to life in the story.

Historical fiction & romance

It takes a very good author to take me out West & enjoy it. I usually read contemporary books. I’ve read a number of books by Vivi Holt & enjoy her writing style. I enjoyed being out west, the tragedy & pain made the beautiful moments that much more precious. I shed a few tears, laughed & rejoiced as well. I appreciated the narrator’s ability to speak in multiple accents. I was intrigued the entire book & didn’t want to put it down! (Or take the earbuds out)

Great Story, Great Narration!

Lost in Laredo by Vivi Holt is an awesome listen! I loved how the author included some suspense in the story, and yet had a clean listen. There were some very unexpected twists with this book, and I found myself really drawn to Lotte and Antonio. The storyline of first becoming friends out of necessity was fitting for this old west book. This book is a standalone listen and part of a series. I really thought the author did a spectacular job with the imagery in this book. Cody Roberts did a great performance with this book. I really was impressed by his various accents he gave the characters. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I highly recommend this book.
