Publisher's summary

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Melody Anne begins a sizzling and heartfelt series about Joseph Anderson’s long-lost nephews.

Finn Anderson is a loyal military veteran who has no desire to live a life of luxury and ease, but sometimes a person doesn’t get a choice. His life is flipped upside down when he and his four brothers learn they’re long-lost relatives of the absurdly famous and wealthy Joseph Anderson. The eccentric but generous billionaire puts the brothers to work building a new veterans center, and that’s not all: Joseph won’t stop until each nephew finds love.

Finn has never expected or wanted an easy life, and he struggles with his early retirement from the elite SEAL team. But when a very confident Brooke Garrison literally sweeps him off his feet during a self-defense class he’s teaching, he thinks less about his past and more about a brand-new future.

If Finn knows anything for certain, it’s that he can’t let this woman get away. Though Brooke is tough and compassionate, the loss of her brother has left her vulnerable. She isn’t sure she can risk loving and losing another person in her life, including a very determined ex-SEAL. Can the two of them look beyond their past wounds and embrace what they’re feeling?

Boring!

I have never given a book anything less then 4 stars. Doesn’t take much to entertain me but this book was BORING!!!!!! I’m only a few hours in and I can’t finish it. I’m falling asleep at my desk, I’d rather be actually working. I’m happy I didn’t pay for this.

This is the fifth book in my life that I couldn’t finish and I read/listen to a lot of books! I always try to give them a chance but it’s not worth it. The narrator literally sounds like a robot. No thanks.

Finn is one lucky man. He knows what he wants and goes after it. Brooke is one amazing pigheaded woman. Loved the push and pull between Finn and Brooke.amazing

Finn

I hate to give books 2 stars, but I just couldn't with this one. I finished it to see if it got any better, but for me it was just background noise.

Finn was injured during the war and is back home. He learns he's family with some big wig and has trouble accepting it because he hasn't had a strong father figure. He meets Brooke whom works in the medical field and he decided he was going to marry her as soon as he met her.

He kept coming around even though she wanted nothing to do with him at first. She decided to give him a chance and they end up together.

I feel like this book didn't really go anywhere.

Don’t waste your time

Written like an 8th grader, with so much repetition it’s worse than a soap opera

Okay

This was a decent book. Definitely the best of the first 3 (as far as I’m going in the series). I liked Brooke and Finn. The next 2 books are less interesting. I really wish they would fix the number of times they misclassified Brooke’s education level. If she is a NP or PA she is very unlikely to have the title “doctor” but they kept calling her a doctor. Basic homework. I believe in one of the books they call crew a psychologist then in Brandon’s book he’s a psychiatrist. I’ve listened to 3 in this series and I’ve had my fill.

Shallow and unsatisfying

The story is shallow. The characters lack depth. The narrator is horrible. This narrator should never narrate a book with emotion again. I honestly think the narration made the story worse. I don't understand how our heroine sometimes has a southern accent when she's from Seattle. The lack of definition between characters' voices - just, please use voice actors instead.

Also, I bought this as part of a sale to start a new series. When it automatically went to the end of the book, I realized I must have read it previously although it did not show up in my library. Because I opted to spend money rather than a credit, I was unable to return the book. So, I listened to it again and now realize why I completely forgot it. It's better that way.

Great Story

I love the story and how determined Finn is from the beginning. The only reason I gave the story 3 stars is because I don't understand how these boys fit in. In other stories Damien and Misty are the bad uncles children with the younger woman that showed up on the Anderson door step and she was abusive to him and died while he was a child but in this series its like that was all just remade with these boys now being the children and the mom being a saint that died once they are adults. It just confusing and doesn't fit with the other stories.
