Publisher's Summary

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Melody Anne begins a sizzling and heartfelt series about Joseph Anderson’s long-lost nephews.

Finn Anderson is a loyal military veteran who has no desire to live a life of luxury and ease, but sometimes a person doesn’t get a choice. His life is flipped upside down when he and his four brothers learn they’re long-lost relatives of the absurdly famous and wealthy Joseph Anderson. The eccentric but generous billionaire puts the brothers to work building a new veterans center, and that’s not all: Joseph won’t stop until each nephew finds love.

Finn has never expected or wanted an easy life, and he struggles with his early retirement from the elite SEAL team. But when a very confident Brooke Garrison literally sweeps him off his feet during a self-defense class he’s teaching, he thinks less about his past and more about a brand-new future.

If Finn knows anything for certain, it’s that he can’t let this woman get away. Though Brooke is tough and compassionate, the loss of her brother has left her vulnerable. She isn’t sure she can risk loving and losing another person in her life, including a very determined ex-SEAL. Can the two of them look beyond their past wounds and embrace what they’re feeling?

Pretty good

I enjoyed the storyline but I found I began to feel annoyed at the female lead. Brooke stayed undecided for WAY too long in the story. It became redundant

Boring!

I have never given a book anything less then 4 stars. Doesn’t take much to entertain me but this book was BORING!!!!!! I’m only a few hours in and I can’t finish it. I’m falling asleep at my desk, I’d rather be actually working. I’m happy I didn’t pay for this.

This is the fifth book in my life that I couldn’t finish and I read/listen to a lot of books! I always try to give them a chance but it’s not worth it. The narrator literally sounds like a robot. No thanks.

Terribly boring and predictable

This book was fluff. I tried to get through it, but I couldn’t stop rolling my eyes. The narrator was annoying too, over-enunciating each syllable, which really made the dialogue sound unnatural. Ugh!

Oh, Yeah. I'm All In

Call me a sucker, but I love the stories where the strong man falls hard and realizes he's found the woman of his dreams--then spends the rest of the novel convincing her of that. This is such a wonderful story on so many levels, and both Finn and Brooke are engaging characters. The strong love of family in this tale is a delightful bonus, as is the lack of unnecessary rough language.

This falls into the "sweet heat" category, making it an enjoyable read for those who don't appreciate books with adult language or explicit love scenes. But there's still plenty of passion and a great story of two wounded souls finding hope and love here.

Disappointing

New author for me and I bought the audiobook. The performance was good and the plot appealing, but I found the character building lacking and the scene changes so abrupt I checked to make sure I hadn’t bought an abridged version. I look for authors that build characters so well I feel I know them personally and can’t wait to find out what happens next. For me this book fell short and has not enticed me to continue with the series. I think the author has promise, but isn’t quite there yet.

Finn

Oh my, what a romantic romantic love story. Loved every moment. I know it is hard to include everyone from the other Anderson clan but I wish there had been a little more integration of the families. Still overall, loved it. Can’t wait for the next book!

So, so...

My rating is really 2.5 stars.

Not my favorite by this author. I didn't like the narrator either. It took about 90% of the book before the heroine said "I love you". Finn and Brooke' story could have wrapped up sooner. Oh the fence whether I will continue with series as absolutely nothing happened here. The project for the veterans is a worthy cause.

Not my favorite

I have enjoyed other books by this author but this book almost feels like someone else wrote it. I like the Anderson family characters but I just couldn’t make myself finish this one. I wanted to like it but the dialogue and performance of the audio was not enjoyable

Enjoyed more Anderson's

I enjoy the Anderson's. This story kept me interested and I wasn't as committed to the end as I had been on the other Anderson stories. It was a bit long, yet I found enough to keep me reading more until the finish. I liked the happy ending, the brothers and friends.
