Answers questions and doubts about self discipline

Would you listen to Self-Discipline again? Why?

Yes, great book. Ian Tuhovsky nails every question I had on self discipline and is clear not to confuse "willpower" with self discipline. From other books I have read including this one, willpower is temporary and it is important to understand the difference. Ian goes into detail to answer questions such as how to use self discipline, and why. Also how to prevent burnout and meditate.

Any additional comments?

As a full time employee and part time grad student self discipline is a must have. I have used the concepts in this book to assure I am completing tasks for work as well as assuring I have time for family, prayer, and exercise. Sometimes failure does happen, but as Ian mentioned in his book to move forward and not dwell on the past.

Self discipline: mental toughness

This is the topic that brings one to success, i recommend listening to Ian Tuhovsky’s work. Randy Streu does a great job of narrating.

An Excellent Self Help Book

I have listened to this book twice since I purchased it recently and enjoyed both times. I really like the fact that the book references to the Zen and Present moment awareness. Within the past 4-5 years I have started my journey in trying to discover the Zen way of living. While I am not an expert in knowing or even completely following the Zen way of living, it certainly impacts my attention and interest positively, every time I read or listen to a book that references it it. This is because I can confidently claim that my life and self discipline has been improved tremendously with as little as I know and practice the reality of life the Zen teaching has introduced me.

Great Book Ian Tuhovsky. The world needs more folks like you.

Randy Streu did a great job! His narration is top notch. He sounds so convincing that makes you want to listen!

We all make choices every day, why not make the right ones? It was very liberating to realize that even though motivation is a great key to success, the times when we don’t feel motivated, we can still make the right choice in order to accomplish our dreams. Let’s keep the momentum!

Interesting Concepts

I got this ARC via audiobook boom. The concepts and exercises presented in this volume were indeed interesting and most were doable. Some left me wondering who would do them and why. Overall they could help as long as one understands that there is room for improvement but we are not the ones totally in charge. We are indeed created beings who are a result of a higher power than ourselves.

You’re not alone

I initially downloaded this book due to going through a tough period in my life leading to losing interests in tasks and hobbies I once excelled in.

A must listen/read.

First of all it’s rare that I will put thumbs to screen for a review so you can rest assured this book is truly fantastic.

If you’re looking to break free of the shackles of self doubt, procrastination and actually make a change in your life long term then this book is for you.

If you’re already a high achiever but often feel burnt out, flat and need to find the off switch a little more, or throttle the gas instead of flooring it all of the way then there’s a gem in here around burnout, how to recognise it, prevent it and also recover from it.

The narration is fantastic and the content provides you with actionable steps that if implements will truly change your life.

Remember that implementation is the key to these kind of books, so every time you hear a Pearl of wisdom make sure that you action it and implement the change, and of course drop your own review in here too.

Absolutely, Undeniably an incredible book !!!

This is a fabulous book if you are considering learning about mental behaviour on work or you are trying to incorporate your self discipline in to your life BUY THIS !!! I learnt sooooo much and im planning on re-listening to this book to write down notes and quotes to hang up in my room !

Realistic and insighful

I already knew that self discipline was a weakness of mine, but I didn't really know how to improve it. I love the ideas given in this book on how to make small changes that matter and it feels completely realistic and therefore achievable. It was also great to get an understanding of why I struggle in this area.

Brain behavior and self decipline.

Lessons for the Ages

I will be honest I wasnt sure at the start this book was what i thought it to be, but given 15-20 min in I couldnt stop listening. so many of lifes valuable lessons i only wish I had learnt many years ago but the best part is that its never to late.
