A Good Read if You are Having a Child

This book was well written. I felt like I had a good grasp of what to expect when having a baby just by reading this book. I think the only point I'd like to make is that the book left me a little worried and burdened about giving birth. Maybe I just wasn't ready to hear everything like it is. But I have to say that when I read Jenny McCarthy's book her humor made me lose any fear. Perhaps I just need a little more humor when it comes to something that makes me nervous.

Excellent explanations & tips

Great analogy for dancers throughout as well. Provides various options for guidelines and always reminds you that each pregnancy is unique and you need to follow what feels right for you.

Very informative!

I enjoyed listening to this book and thought the delivery (no pun intended) was very well done. It covers all the bases and helps prepare you for the ride of a lifetime.

I'm not the baby

Would you try another book from Michael F. Roizen and Mehmet C. Oz and/or Michael F. Roizen and Mehmet C. Oz ?

No

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

We were about to start trying for a baby and I liked the information in the book - especially about how the experience in utero affects gene expression, and the importance of having a healthy, low-stress lifestyle.

How could the performance have been better?

Don't talk to the audience as if we're 2 year olds getting read a bedtime story. The tone of voice of the narrators is what you'd expect if they were reading a nursery story to children. It was really annoying and borderline condescending.

Was YOU worth the listening time?

The information was good, but now way would I listen to it again. I'll read it myself if I want to remember something from the book.

Excellent!!!

If you could sum up YOU in three words, what would they be?

Detailed, Organized, Interesting and Informative

What does Michael F. Roizen and Mehmet C. Oz bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Their voice intonations helps understand the book better.

Any additional comments?

I listened to it on a trip from Boston to NY and back. It was the greatest trip ever.

Don't bother

While Mehmet Oz is interesting enough to listen to, Michael Roizen o-ver-e-nun-ci-ates e-ver-y syl-lab-le. They alternate between each other, making the contrast between them that much more noticeable. This audiobook is unlistenable and I regret ever having wasted my credit on it.

Very educational

I didn't think I would get too much out of this book but I couldn't have been any more work. I definitely learned a great deal from this and I would highly recommend this book for those about to have a baby!

You! Having a Baby

This was a great pregnancy book. Lots of good information. Not a waste of time. I listened to it on my ipod while in bed with nausea for a good 2 weeks. I recommend it for anyone who is expecting a child.

Good information

Great basic information to get you started. I loved how they talked about epigenetics! Didn't totally agree with the nutrition recommendations (low fat dairy?), but everything seemed VERY helpful!
