Publisher's Summary

Do you often feel overwhelmed, and in a daily battle to keep up? That you rarely get on top of your to-do list, and at times feel out of control and unable to cope? If so, you may be experiencing the first signs of rushing woman's syndrome....

Never before have women been in such a hurry to do so many things and be there for so many people. The pace of modern life has drastically increased - but even though our minds can go faster and technology allows us to get more done, our bodies still have cavewoman-like biology - which means they cannot respond healthily to the new and constant pressures we experience. In this book, nutritional biochemist Dr. Libby Weaver explains how a stressful, fast-paced lifestyle can have dangerous effects on all areas of a woman's health, including:

  • Nervous system - how an imbalanced nervous system may be causing you to gain weight and disrupting your sleep
  • Adrenal glands - why adrenal fatigue may be making you feel tired but wired
  • Reproductive system - how your daily stresses may be affecting your menstrual cycle or fertility
  • Digestive system - why stress could be at the heart of your bloating, cravings or unpredictable appetite
  • Emotions - how your emotional landscape holds the key to leading a fulfilling life without the need to rush

Inspired by Dr. Libby's clinical experiences and her empathy for women and the many roles they now juggle, this audiobook offers real solutions to restore your health so that you can stay both productive and healthy.

no science to back to anti caffeine claim

Wasted my money. She missed the mark. Without detoxing and removing bad oils, you won't be able to 'journal' yourself to better health. Go to Dr. Mindy Pelz for science based answers #resetters

could have been an email

Struggled to finish this. It was extremely repetitive and shamelessly self-promoting. There are some things that ring true, but her perspective is not unique nor is the information a new take on anything. At times it verges on victim blaming for women suffer from medically ailments/disorders. Overall it's a pass for me.

Incredibly Educational and Helpful

This book was recommended by a friend and I cannot thank her enough! Dr. Weaver uses her background in science to highlight numerous issues many women face today due to our hectic lifestyles and how these issues affect our health. She also offers recommendations on how to overcome these issues by slowing down and making adjustments to our daily routines in addition to exercise, supplements, and diet, all of which I found incredibly interesting! I have already recommended this book to men and women I know because algorithms it’s tailored to women, I think the premise can be insightful to men as well in regard to SNS dominance and weight gain. Overall, totally worth a listen!!

Sorry but narrator is awful

Returned this book in first 3 minutes. Doesn’t sound like a professional narrator. Book content sounds excellent but there’s no way I could manage 6.5hrs of such uninspiring narration. And for a book about trying to stop rushing, she’s reading it too fast (but slowing narration speed sounds awful). Will buy the hard copy instead.

Very monotonous

This book was not for me . The narration was monotone and left me bored with the content.
I did not like this book - not for me and would not recommend.
Boring narration. Felt like she was reading a list .
Read many self help books this was probably my least favourite and got nothing from it .

Hard listen, disappointing

Although this was recommended - the author needs to have a professional narrator read her work. The voice is grating and harsh, too fast, as in the title. I have not been able to listen to perhaps valuable content.

The narration was way too fast

For a book about rushing women, the narration was way too fast. It stressed me out rather than made me feel empowered.
Some good information in here but a few parts lost me when they moved into slightly woo woo territory, like imagining the moon from the moonlight filling my ovaries.

This book made me realise I’ve been barking up the wrong tree regards my belly fat

I can see now that focusing on exercise and calorie restriction was never going to make a difference. It was the stressors in my life that had resulted in too much cortisol. It’s this excess cortisol that continues to instruct the body to hold onto fat and fluid - regardless of my efforts to loose weight.

I am so clear now on where to channel my attention so that my body feels safe and cortisol can return to normal levels.

It’s been two weeks since I’ve changed my focus and I can see the first tiny signs of less bulge around my middle. And most importantly I feel more calm and centred.

P.S. I had no issue with Libby’s voice.

Eye opener

I loved listening to this whilst I breathed, excercised and stopped for a tea. It opened my eyes as to why I was the way I was and have already made decisions for myself for the better. I have reccommended this daily to the women in my life, as it was recommended to me.

Listen at 0.9 or a little below speed.

Great book. Generally things that some may already know, but it's good for reinforcing. The audio is a bit quick, but I found reducing it to 0.85/0.90 speed made the audio easier listening, and less "rushed".
