From heartburn and headaches to birth and breastfeeding, We’re Pregnant! features practical, action-oriented pregnancy advice from the author of the Dad or Alive blog, Adrian Kulp, a (once clueless) dad who’s been there and done that - three times, in fact!

We’re Pregnant! addresses and alleviates the stress first-time dads face through candid pregnancy guidance, including:

  • Week-specific pregnancy milestones so you’re not left wondering what’s happening, what’s going to happen, or what you should be doing during the pregnancy

  • Action-oriented goals that will support baby’s development, mom’s pregnancy experience, and the wellbeing of your relationship
  • Up-to-date information on “The Fourth Trimester” so you’re as prepared for the first months of baby’s life as you were during pregnancy

We’re Pregnant! delivers real-world pregnancy advice with a humorous tone that will get first-time dads ready, willing, and able to carry their portion of the pregnancy weight….pickles and ice cream not included.

Just okay

I think this book requires a physical copy, so you can take notes or ear mark certain things. The content is decent and explained in humorous ways, explanations are clear and concise.

This is my first time expecting and first time reading one of these books, I think it’s a good book to start with.

Are you a horrible person trying to have a baby?

Can we please get a big about pregnancy geared to males that doesn’t assume in a terrible self absorbed person? If you’re also on the search here, this isn’t it. If you want to guilt your male partner into changing, I guess this book is a passive aggressive option to continue an unhealthy relationship.

Super high level bro

I got this audiobook for my husband and we listened to it together on road trips. While I appreciate the “daddy doula” tips and how he offers ideas for date nights, the details on what the mom is going through each week was way too fast paced and too super level. It also seemed like he was pandering to the bro-y lazy husband who (thankfully) is not my husband. If your husband reads spark notes, this book is for him. If you want your husband to really know what you’re going through, this isn’t it.

Absolutely not for men who actually care

This book was definitely not written by a man, even though the author seems to be one. The entire first 30 pages or so are dedicated to shaming men. Both the preface and the intro talk exclusively about how awful men are and how they can’t do anything right. Both the preface and the intro explain how even though you’re reading this book you aren’t doing enough you slob and you will never be good enough. Do yourself a favor, get that old “what to expect when you’re expecting” book. It’s way better and actually gives advice, not like this trash that exclusively shames and offers zero helpful advice.

Well written and informative

I’ve listened to several books on pregnancy. He was entertaining and informative. I like that a man was reading it for a man. Several pregnancy books are written by woman and performed by men. Makes the book less credible.

Pretty solid first time dad book

Enjoyed hearing all the terms about this experience with the tips. The only complaint was I felt like it was laid on a bit thick with the dad being a complete tool with smoking and drinking

Surface level and written for a bro

Very limited actual information and advice that you should be doing anyway. If you're relationship is already beyond you only thinking about your self and you pull your weight with the housework, then this book had nothing special to offer.

Disappointing

Based on the overall rating and reviews, the expectation were not even close to be fulfilled.

I’m sorry for the harsh words but I really can’t understand how this book got it’s good reviews and rating.
The majority of information is just common sense or easily accessible with simple google searches.
What this supposedly should teach men could be rephrased to that it teaches teenagers.
It honestly feels like this book is meant for someone that is completely clueless about life and relationships.
Sure, if you are 18 and below and you are curious about pregnancy and becoming parents in the future, I guess this could come in handy, but for the ones that is already in this stage, this should NOT be what you need.
Learning about communication, helping out and making the life easier for your partner, should already been established if you are at the point of expecting and newborn.
Major disappointment.

Great Book

I really enjoyed this book. Very practical and I especially enjoyed the mom and baby “stats”.

Facts, data, useful reminders. 5 stars

Great if you look for information. Mostly raw descriptions of what happens.
Narrator is a little too slow.

Like reading a pregnancy forum

Little essence, if any at all. I suppose target group should be high school kids at best.
