Coexisting but conflicting needs create self-sabotaging behaviors. This is why we resist efforts to change, often until they feel completely futile. But by extracting crucial insight from our most damaging habits, building emotional intelligence by better understanding our brains and bodies, releasing past experiences at a cellular level, and learning to act as our highest potential future selves, we can step out of our own way and into our potential.

Each of us has a dual nature: we are light (conscious) and dark (unconscious). The dark side of our personality - the “other,” the shadow side - is made up of what we think is our primitive, primal, negative impulses - our “existential kink.” Our existential kink also drives the dark or negative repeating patterns in our life: always choosing the abusive partner or boss, settling for less, thinking that we’re undeserving, not worthy. But it also is the source of our greatest power.

So much wisdom
I really enjoyed this audio book and learned so much about how to have a more conscious relationship. I read Conscious Loving Ever After first and wasn't sure if it provided the same information, but nope, this book provides even more exercises and teachings. My only regret is that this audiobook doesn't come with a PDF of all the activities and exercises, so now, I have to buy either the physical copy or an ebook. Still, the teaching on sharing the microscopic truth alone is worth its weight in gold. So good!

LOVED IT!!
In order to truly get everything out of this book, you must do 2 things: 1) Consider this as an INTERACTIVE program in the same way a college football head coach would recruit an athlete. YOU have to buy into it & do so by being ALL IN. It’s not helpful at all if you just assume it’s”just another _______” book… You’ll get caught literally judging the book by its cover (even as an audio book)!!
2) Once you’re ALL IN, see to it that you get your significant other to participate with you. It can ONLY help your relationship, where’s the harm in each learning about oneself & their partners?! It may save YOUR marriage!! Nothing to lose, everything to gain!!
