They had seven years to prepare. Earth is lost.

Seven years ago the New Earth colony received one final message from Earth...a warning. First a global pandemic, then the emergence of a new species. A war for survival ravaged the Sol system. Now they are coming for the colony.

Many colonists don't believe it, but Connor does. They must prepare. They must fight. But how can they survive something that killed every person back on Earth?

Great story

I love colony building along with space opera and interesting characters then throw in intense action and combat and you have a great book. The narrator was perfect for this series. I can't stop reading this series. Highly recommended.

Something Wicked This Way Comes

Time to put your money where your mouth is basically sumurizes the beginning of this book. Book 1 (Genesis) set the stage as new colonists on a planet they call New Earth learned that not only were they no longer at the top of the food chain but something wicked this way comes. Some alien species obliterated Old Earth and is coming for them. They have had 7 years to prepare when this book begins and the politicians no longer want to believe and fund for the danger coming. As a listener you will want to throttle them and you will feel for the planet defence team trying to keep the colony alive. As you can expect their worst fears are realized and then comes the need to survive as a species. The action is non-stop in this nail-biting sequel. #SciFi #Military #ActionPacked #TagsGiving #Sweepstakes

Well done ‘cowboys & Indians’ space opera military fiction

Well written ‘western’ style science fiction. Limited, if any, excursions from contemporary milieu but at least foreshadowing of a ‘big reveal’ twist down the road. Worth reading but, at this point not earth shattering or exceptionally innovative.

Great story and performance. I look forward to the next in series. Characters are well developed and the performer brings them to life.

more war

I don't really like books about space war. I like the things around the war parts, people, relationships, challenges, tech, a different environment, but not the maneuvering and shooting. the first book was all prep for war so I liked that a lot. this book is much more about the war itself so I didn't like as much of it. I like the characters though, and the bigger context and want to find out what happened to earth, so I will listen to the 3rd book.

Story was good, but writing felt first draft.

I enjoyed the characters and story. Would recommend to others. The narrator does a lot of the heavy lifting by giving the characters another dimension. Would like it more if the author used more descriptive language around the mood and feelings of the characters. Also, just a nitpick, but the book needed more proof reading. On at least three occasions, there were repetitions kind of like: 'The pan was hot. "I can't wait till the eggs are done!", Scott said. The pan was hot."

In a galaxy far far away

The story is mainly plot driven, the human interest that exists is small and fleeting, all the men and all the women have the same character and it is hard to feel any loss when one dies as his character identical is right next to him. But I will follow up on the series as the plot is very good and I’m curious to see what happens next, I think the author has the capacity to make me eat my words and I hope he does. The performance is stellar and I wouldn’t change a thing about it.
