I enjoyed this story, but

New concept, albeit somewhat familiar to another story that I listened to!

My main irritation is that for a marine, the main character does a lot of whining, which has become annoying! The guy needs to "man up"! 😁

A good story, however...

Mr Guerra loses one star for his all-too-frequent grammatical errors. They are quite distacting. 😐

I liked it and hope for more depth in the next one

Reading was well done and I will look for more books he does. The actions scenes were very good, but just more depth and complexity and more subtle romantic inclination would be good

storyteller took a while to warm into it

storyteller had an odd alternating emphasis that took a number of chapters to get used to. I felt like he was reading to a child, almost.

Good but could be better

The sci-fi part is imaginative but there is no grit of life. I kept waiting for interaction in situations set up by the author. His adult characters act like preteens. A little too G for me. Maybe the author is writing for target audience of YA?

Entertaining

Enjoyed it. Plenty of action and the aliens seemed believable. Not too heavy in foul language and no sexual themes in this one which I appreciated.

OK

Good story. Not great, but interesting. Not sure what it was, but something about it made it a bit difficult to always stay interested, thus the good, but not great.
Listened to this as part the titles included in membership. Would listen to the next if it were included, but not sure if I had to pay a credit, I'd probably pass on the next for now & put in my wish list in case a future sale comes up or it gets added to the included titles down the road.
Story had alot of convenient & far flung tech. Things were a bit vague, or maybe not quite right, which made it hard to decide if the world felt well put together or not.
Narrator was good on male voices. A few of the feminine voices were a bit too feminine in an off putting way for me, but not terrible.

The main character is a little soft.

I like the story but the narration between characters has a similar tone and pitch. Also, the main character has a boring personality. If we know more about his personnel experiences this might draw me into a character that I can cheer for.

Fun story…unique, well thought out…

I enjoyed the rich characters, the detailed ‘world’, the entire book was a fun read.
