Loved it!

I was very pleased with this book, as it kept my interest, which is not easy to do. I have already purchased book 2.

Unexpectedly fun

Scott Moon has written other books I really liked, but I will be honest. I was dubious going in, but I had a spare credit and wanted to try something I don’t usually do.

I am not a fan of the vampire genre. Imagine my surprise when I really liked this book. Honestly, I thought it would be a hard plough with predictable tropes and all too familiar clichés. I should have known better with this author. It turned out to be a very fun ride. I was entertained from beginning to end, and this was me starting out with a “meh” attitude.

Few can write an anti-hero protagonist like Moon. The main character has a past, but not in the overused ways so many of these stories fall into. The gritty main hero was believable. It’s that jaded guy you know in real life. That guy who can be a real pain but has a good heart.

I listen to audiobooks on my commutes to and from work and doing chores. Where I live, the traffic sucks. It’s nothing to look forward to. With this book, I found myself looking forward to these drives. I was enthusiastic about doing chores.
The story was not predictable. The telling of it was engaging. This is the right narrator for this story.

Highly recommend. Five Stars all around.

A New Take on the Apocalypse

This book is new and refreshing.. It has a lot of twists and turns and keep you interested the entire read

surprisingly good.

I didn't know anything about this book when I downloaded it. I was surprised buy how good it was and very good narration. give this a shot if you want a good story. there isn't a lot of fighting or anything just an apocalypse syfy but I'm hopeful for more action in the next book. if you looking for a good story check this out.

action-packed

this book was action-packed throughout the whole book but it was just missing something not sure if I can quite put it into words what it was just one of those books that you feel that could had a little bit more maybe character development possibly storyline but the storyline was pretty good I just can't put my finger on what exactly was missing but just something small overall a Great Entertaining listen

Good listen...

Intresting story. Only issue is all female voices are a male faking them that sounds like a Trans person. Also since all female charaters have that same fake voice, its hard to tell what character it is.

Was surprised how much I liked it!

For being an alien invasion story I felt like the story was really fresh. The characters were very likable and they made decisions that kept the story moving forward in a positive way. I’m pretty tired of uber flawed characters that constantly make you groan at their poor decisions and I didn’t feel that here. I’m genuinely excited to get started on book 2.

Space vampires?

An interesting perspective telling both sides strange story. On one side of the story you have alien invaders virtually destroying the planet. On the other side of the story you have an advanced civilization traversing the stars and seeking resources along the way. I'm looking forward to the next book. The Narration in this one was very well done. Characters were believable. The story took a few minutes to establish, and then it took off really well. Almost any Fan of a good space Odyssey should find this an interesting story.

Great listen

Could use a little more action but did keep my attention the entire time. Jake
