First Colony

The Ark—humanity’s valiant effort to reach beyond our solar system to establish the first interstellar colony at a distant star. For 300 thousand colonists, the colony brings the promise of a fresh start and for some, a second chance. Connor never meant to escape wrongful imprisonment, nor being put into stasis aboard the Ark. He might be the wrong man for the colony, but he’s the right man to see that it survives what’s coming.

Colonel Sean Quinn is stranded in another universe, along with 2,000 people under his command. They've been hiding from the enemy long enough, now it’s time to return home. Outnumbered against a superior foe, Sean must risk everything in a daring operation, but the mysterious enemy has a few surprises of their own. Meanwhile, a division threatens to tear the colony apart and Connor Gates is caught in the middle.

The Krake, a mysterious enemy who has brought about the collapse of entire civilizations, is hunting for New Earth. Connor Gates, former elite soldier and now general of the colonial military, must find a way to protect the colony. It seems all but impossible when both humans and aliens alike are ignoring the very threat that should be uniting them all. To forge a future for the colony, Connor must risk everything.

As Connor secretly searches for the enemy homeworld, he launches clandestine military operations to liberate other worlds in hopes of gaining allies before the enemy can find the last human colony. The humans cannot hope to compete with the enemy’s vast empire, but with the discovery of a new ally, Connor believes their luck has finally changed. Instead, when new allies clash with the old, Connor finds himself caught in the middle. Connor will have to choose whether doing what’s necessary to ensure the colony survives is worth compromising his loyalty to allies close to home.

For years, Connor and others in the colony have unraveled the mysteries of New Earth and the global catastrophes that nearly destroyed its previous inhabitants. Their work led to the discovery of other worlds beyond the known universe. It became clear that many of those worlds had been attacked by an interdimensional invader that left untold amounts of manipulation, hardship, and annihilation in its wake. It’s only a matter of time before the colony becomes the next target.

Over the years, Connor has pieced together evidence of a mysterious group of aliens who roamed the multiverse and have been to New Earth. Setting off to make new discoveries about them is straightforward enough, but this is New Earth, and Connor Gates has a knack for finding trouble. For over 20 years, Connor and Diaz have been friends. They’ve survived two wars and have seen the best and the worst of each other. When a terrorist attack takes the life of Diaz’s son, their friendship will be pushed to the breaking point.

Ten years ago, the Ark II departed on a long journey through interstellar space, but shortly after they reached their destination, all communications ceased. All attempts to re-establish contact have failed. Utilizing prototypical FTL technology that he invented, one brave man will lead a small expedition into the unknown to discover the colony’s fate.

After a long and exalted military career, General Connor Gates thought he was finally ready to retire. He was wrong. When interstellar probes sent to Earth’s star system report back 40 years earlier than expected, the colonists learn that humans somehow survived the cataclysmic events of the past…but so did the enemy.

Years after the first interstellar colony ship departed from Earth, a contagion known as the Vemus spread across all mammalian life on the planet, giving rise to monstrosities that nearly wiped out all humanity. Hundreds of years later, the interstellar colonists sent an expeditionary force back to Earth to help the survivors. Among the refugees were a cadre of human survivors who had adapted to resist the Vemus by becoming a hybrid of both.

General Connor Gates is leading a task force on the most ambitious exploration initiative to date. The crew aboard the ships are mix of military and civilian, and include his son, Ethan, who has grown into a well respected leader. While exploring a strange alien world, the team investigating the wreckage of an alien ship is brutally attacked. The survivors barely escape and are now fighting for their lives and their sanity…including Ethan. They’ve been exposed to a dangerous contagion, and it’s going to spread.

Being blindsided is never easy, even when you’re on the right track. Experimenting with technology that stretches our understanding of the universe, Connor and a small group of survivors find themselves stranded on a ship far beyond known space. The answers they seek may lie in a distant star system, but Connor is about to find out that not all encounters are by chance.

Stranded thousands of light-years from home, General Connor Gates faces the brutal reality: their battered ship is failing, supplies are dwindling, and home is an impossible distance away. Their only hope lies with a mysterious alien prisoner who offers a dangerous bargain—freedom in exchange for guidance to an ancient outpost with technology that could save them all. Their voyage plunges them farther into uncharted space, where every shadow hides peril.

General Sean Quinn leads a desperate mission to return Aczar refugees to their distant homeworld—a mercy run that spirals into something far deadlier. The Aczar have emerged from their underground exile wielding orbital weapons that could challenge any fleet. Their revolution has freed them from ancient manipulation, but the refugees Sean escorts are branded traitors for choosing outsiders over their own people. There is no sanctuary waiting—only accusations and unknown consequences. As diplomacy crumbles, Major Ethan Gates traces mysterious signals to a forgotten relic drifting in the void.
