Publisher's summary

Audie Award Finalist, Paranormal, 2014

The ever after, the demonic realm that parallels our own, is shrinking, and if it disappears, so does all magic. It’s up to witch-turned-daywalking-demon Rachel Morgan to fix the ever-after before the fragile balance between magic users and humans fails.

Of course, there’s also the small fact that she caused the ley line to rip in the first place, and her life is forfeit unless she can fix it. And that the most powerful demon in the ever after - the soul-eater Ku'Sox Sha-Ku'ru - has vowed to destroy Rachel, and has kidnapped her friend and goddaughter as leverage. If Rachel doesn’t give herself up, they will die.

Forced by circumstance, Rachel teams up with elven tycoon Trent Kalamack - a prospect fraught with dangers of the heart as well as betrayal of the soul - to return to the ever after and rescue those she loves.

Both worlds teeter on the brink, one on a possible interspecies war, the other for its very existence, and it’s up to Rachel to keep both from being destroyed.

Very Enjoyable

Very good. Was happy with the lack of Ivy in this book as she is one of my least favorite characters. Good story with Al, Trent and Jenks. Marguerite Gavins's narration was as usual perfect.

Another great one from KM

In this book Rachel is trying to get it right. She's taking the time to weigh her decisions and make the right choices while still being true to herself. A wonderful addition to the series.

LOVE IT!!!!!!

Would you consider the audio edition of Ever After to be better than the print version?

Yes

Who was your favorite character and why?

In this volume I really enjoyed Al. We got to see a side of him a little more "human". some of the emotions and feelings shared made you not think of him as such a bad guy.

What about Marguerite Gavin’s performance did you like?

Everything. She brings such life to the characters. I have read (listened) to other books by other authors just because she is the narrator. She is definitely one of my top 3 faves.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes and No. It was interesting enough to listen to at one time but i wanted to savor it and really pay attention to the story. Plus it is quite long.

Any additional comments?

Great book.It was refreshing to have the story focus on characters that have been in the background in the past. It was also good to get way from the Ivy storyline for awhile and see different sides of Rachael.

Already started my second listen

Kim Harrison's Hollows series is by far my favorite urban fantasy series. I've listened to them all at least twice, and read several in book form as well.

While Ever After was not my favorite in the series (that honor goes to Pale Demon), it came in a close second. The first half of the book is good, and the second half is amazing. The last chapter in particular was excellent. When I finished, I simply went back to chapter 1 and started listening again (need to catch the details I missed the first time...:)

Marguerite Gavin was an amazing narrator, as always.

Good book

This series is another good one if you haven't listened to it yet. I love the narrator of it also. I wish Trent and Rachel would just get on with it already. You know they are going to hook up at some point. Rachel so deserves it after Kisten...

Best in This Series

Another good book in this series. This book picks up where the last ended with Rachel being chased by a demon that eats souls. Rachel teams up with the Elven leader to chase the demon across realities. Good action coupled with a good story with twists. If you want a fun, entertaining story then this is it. I found myself wanting to know what Rachel was going to do next & not expecting what came. Each book in this series gets better. If you enjoy Patricia Briggs or Charlaine Harris then you will probably enjoy this author.

Another great installment in the series!

I really liked the book, so sorry to see a couple of characters killed off but - it's okay. It will help to lead the story in new directions. Rachel endures yet another lose-lose scenario and makes it through, albeit not totally unscathed. I'm wondering where the story will go with these changes. Can't wait for the next one!

Series is the bomb

These books are great alone, but much more when read as series. Could easily see these becoming a movie.

for-EVER AFTER villains

WOW what an amazing issue to this series. So many ups & downs.Lives & Loves lost. Harder choices to make & trusting people Rachel had originally thought not to trust. She is not alone though,Jenks & Ivy might be moving on with their lives but Rachel has found new foes with the Elves & the Demons, reconnecting two long time enemies to fight one powerful enemy. Will there be love or heart ache with the new relationship showing itself between Rachel & Trent.I can't wait to find out:)
