Some things shouldn't be seen....

Cherokee Pointe, Tennessee. Deep in the Smoky Mountains, the victim lies, sacrificed on a makeshift altar - the gruesome work of a killer who has evaded the authorities in state after state. FBI agent Dallas Sloan knows the scene all too well - just as he knows the killings won't stop until there are four more bodies.

Some warnings won't be heeded....

Genny Madoc's "sixth sense" has brought many of Cherokee Pointe's residents to her isolated log cabin, looking for help. But now it's Genny who needs help from the disturbing visions she sees - images that are getting stronger and more violent day by day.

Some fears can't be stopped....

Thrown together by necessity, drawn to each other by desire, Dallas and Genny must band together, searching the darkest heart of a town's hidden secrets before a twisted killer can complete a sinister plan that will make one of them the fifth victim.

I was not really impressed with this book. First of all I was under the assumption that I was listening to a mystery thriller. That is not what this book is. It reads like a romance novel sprinkled with murders that you know are happening but not much is really said about it. The main focus is on the attraction of the main character and an FBI agent. which if you are like me and you cannot stand listening to romance novels you will hate because it is very do or die soulmate kind of stuff. also the main character Genevieve may possibly be the most annoying character I have ever read in the book. I like my leading ladies to be powerhouses and she was more like Snow White. soft and gentle and she speaks to animals! I wasn't a huge fan of the writing. phrases and expressions were repeated multiple times to where I found myself knowing exactly what the next words in the book would be before they were spoken. The only reason I finished this book is because I wanted to see if I was Right about who I suspected to be the killer... I was right. which is not a positive I guessed who it was going to be halfway through the book. so I felt like that was very predictable. for someone who's interest include mysteries, thrillers, detective novels, and horror novels this is absolutely not for you.

This was a good story, well read, the characters were well developed . My only issue was the amount of sex, explicit sex towards the end of the novel.

A little too much

I liked the story the especially the visions and the FBI skeptical hero. dont like when they automatically believe everything lol. strong women also are great in a story im sick of females looking so stupid and weak. this book have strong smart women and men who help and also know we can be strong but do need protection in some ways as well. great read.

really good story

Chemstry built partially. Average overall. Performance was good. I don't regret listening to it, but probably won't listen again.

Not bad. Everything happens at once.

the story had potential but the ending was disappointing. it could have been so much bigger and better. the ending felt rushed.
