Publisher's Summary

A War is Brewing. Kennedy is one of the last known Druids. Wanted dead by the Seelie Queen and as a coveted asset to defeat this cruel ruler, Kennedy has become a mark. Especially by a sexy, merciless Dark Dweller, Lorcan Dragen. Kidnapped and taken prisoner, Kennedy's life takes a dramatic turn down a path she never imagined. Spending time with a man who killed her best friend's mother and her friend, she knows he is not someone she should care about. But the longer she spends with her enemy, the more her feelings blur the line between what is right and wrong, what is true and what is not. As her magic grows, so does the shy, nerdy girl, and she soon realizes nothing on a list or in a book will prepare her for what is ahead. Even her own feelings.

Not my favorite narrator.

Liked the story. I did not like it as well as the Collector series. Also, I should have read the Darkness series first. I was a little lost in the beginning. The audio seemed off. It sounded almost like it had been sped up. I even slowed down the playback a little. That made it a little easier to listen to. But still not my favorite narrator.

good but not great

guilty pleasure to listen to, but the main character gets really annoying in the end and some things just aren't explained. it was heavy romance, and it seemed like everything else was happening around that, so idk where the second one will lead, probs not get it tho. not interested enough to want to continue the series.

The narrator is not working for me.

I could barely get through an hour of this book. This narrator sounds like a 7 year old with a nasal infection. And then they kept mentioning people and events from a previous series that I haven't read so I felt lost. I gave up pretty quickly.

This is just a retail of one of the darkness books

It's a retail of Embers Darkness books except it's told by Kennedy.
Not much is different. waist of time in my opinion.
Basically the end us all you need to know. theres revolt against the new queen from some albino fea. i would have started with the second book if this was all i needed to know. UGh annoying waist of time.
This narrator was way to high pitched and young sounding. And she huffed and puffed and eas breathy also. That is not good at all from a narrator.

I read to about 90%, then deleted it in annoyance

Two things wrong:
- The narrator sounds YOUNG, like a 14 year old. Considering the heroine has sex and we are expected to take her seriously, this was a problem for me. Having said that, the narrator does do a good job with different voices, pacing and inflection (except the heroines’ whining).
- the hero was great, but everyone else was painful. Especially the lead female, as the book progressed. I was cheering on the opposing side, wishing someone would just kill her already.
