Not the full series

I bought this thinking it was the completed series, but its not. This is the first 3 books and although many issues are resolved, it still leaves you hanging for the war to come. The characters are likeable, loyal, honorable and have flaws. They have bonded into a family. The chapters swtch POV between multiple characters. Narrator does a good job. Story is paced well and voices are good. There is plenty of action. I know now that book 4 is available and ends in a cliffhanger based on reviews. It is a good value with an interesting story and engaging characters. Be aware the story continues and is not complete.

An Absolute Surprise

I got this on sale because it’s a genre that I enjoy and had positive reviews. But honestly I wasn’t expecting much. Had never heard of the series or author. And so many in this genre can be so cookie cutter.

What a surprise this was. Great story and characters I cared about. Intriguing plot. And very little romance which often bogs down books like this.

Reminds me of how much I like the Hollows series.

I am looking forward to the next one.

I absolutely love this series! I completed identify with Amber. Love her rebellion!!! I’m wondering what their futures hold?!

Author has a fresh & unique take on genre. Voice talent does a good job. I liked the story.

Definitely worth the listen. Really enjoyed the characters, narrator did a great job. It should be listed as young adult though.

I enjoyed this collection of books far more than I expected to. These days it's hard to find an urban supernatural book that doesn't spend half the time telling us how gorgeous and handsome the characters are as they turn into lust driven dolts every time they see each other. This one had interesting characters and a good set of mysteries and challenges for them to face.... but they were normal people who just happened to have supernatural powers. There were love interests that developed gradually and didn't turn the characters into brainless horndogs There were strong female characters who didn't feel the need to prove how tough they were by being rude and/or aggressive to everyone they met. They created a family of their own and brought in friends along the way, and they stood together when things were rough. Well done.
