Subject: You're a flippin' idiot
Good morning, my dear, naive friend.
I hope you're enjoying a breakfast of regret and sorrow.
Because you sent me to work for Dean Harper, aka a control freak in a tailor-made suit. Sure, he owns the trendiest restaurants in NYC, but c'mon, Jo. His ego makes Kanye West look like the Dalai Lama.
He's the type of guy who hears the word "no" only when it's followed by "don't stop".
Working for Dean Harper would be like selling my soul to the devil...and before you say anything, I don't care if the devil has punch-you-in-the-gut brown eyes and an ass to match. My soul isn't for sale.
Please note: The Allure of Dean Harper is a standalone contemporary romance from USA Today best-selling author R. S. Grey with overlapping characters from The Allure of Julian Lefray. Both books can be listened to separately.
What a thoroughly enjoyable romance. The performances were impressive and they story was fantastic. Lots of heated erotic moments, a story twist near the end that leads to some hijinks, lots and lots of laughs, and two likeable couples.
I loved Lilly's spunks and fire, her best pal Josephine is a true blue friend, Julian is a loyal boyfriend to Josephine and stand up guy, and Dean... is a man who is a bit complexed but with soft edges and not too proud to grow into being a better man. I can't wait to recommend this book to friends and family.
I really enjoyed this lighthearted listen. I usually listen to dark themes, or heavier erotica, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this. Loved the chemistry between Lilly and Dean, even if it was full of angst and hate. They were perfect for each other! I wouldn't necessarily say it was a "hot" listen but it was a cute romance! I will probably listen to the other books in the Allure series! Sometimes you just need a good love story with a HEA! Not to mention I think I learned some new drinks I'd like to try :)
Talk about two trains colliding, the frustration, the sexual tension, the heated discussions make for some very exciting days.Dean and Lily are two very explosive personalities,so much alike. Both fighting for control only to give in to their desires. Not as humorous as the first book or as witty;but chuck full of maddening melodrama. These two go all out and jump right in that boxing match called love. After listening to this story it seriously feels like you've gone a few rounds.Sara and Aaron did an excellent job with narration, switching off from character to character.I'm glad that the two couples in this series had their happy endings.Loved listening.
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No. Read it perhaps but not listen to it. The female narrator got a shrieky, loud and whiney voice that says everything but smart.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
How could the performance have been better?
Change female narrator.
Could you see The Allure of Dean Harper being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
Perhaps nick zano and Brooklyn decker.
Hot & hilarious and Loved every minute of it! There's a thin line between love and hate - and when Dean & Lily cross that line there is an explosion.... In more ways than one! =)
