Publisher's Summary

Enemies turn to lovers in this bad boy billionaire romance with a twist.

I had a plan.

Finish law school. Start a job. Stay away from men like Brandon Sterling. Cocky, overbearing, and richer than the Earth, he thinks the world belongs to him, and that includes me.

Yeah, no. Think again.

It doesn't matter that his blue eyes look straight into my soul, or that his touch melts my icy reserve. It doesn't even matter that past all that swagger, there's a beautiful, damaged man who has so much to offer beyond private planes and jewelry boxes.

But I had a plan: no falling in love.

I just have to convince myself.

Contains mature themes.

Nice Billionaire obsessed with Bad Girl student

I agree Skyler is not worth chasing after.

After they meet Brandon is obsessed with her but she gets angry with him at every turn. as they start to date he tries to get her gifts and take her on a trip that he can obviously afford but that makes her angry as she feels like a whore. Her anger flares to the point where twice she slaps him. I have to wonder if Audible would host a book where when the guy gets mad at his new girlfriend he hauls of and slaps her.

Things are finally going along pretty good but she has to find something else that's so bad she leaves him. For weeks she wont talk to him and never does tell him why she left.

The end of this book ends with a cliff hanger that I was uncomfortable with. I wont be listening to book 2 as I now know how it was handled.

Basically there is nothing Bad Boy about him but she's pretty nasty.

Love CJ Bloom... the heroin not so much

Skyler is annoying skipped the last two chapters. Hopefully the other books get better. she really needs to get it together.

I Can't!

This book is about a young law student/intern who inadvertently meets a partner at the firm where she is interning...Then the games begin.
Way too much back and forth. I need to read about a strong woman that knows her mind and doesn't play games. Or a young woman coming into her own. Sky makes too many decisions based on her ignorance. I want to smack her.
I don't even think that I could move on to book two.
The H is not the strong man that I want to read about either. He's constantly tripping over himself to win her back and keeps a powerful secret. WTH! I don't see him as a multi billionaire partner of a law firm. He sounds like he just made his first million. If he has so much money why in the world is living in the house he shared with his ex. I can't!
The narrator was spot on for everyone but the grandmother for me.
Nicole French is one my faves but this book is a no for me.

I’m not really happy about several aspects of this

First I hate CJ blooms voice for this. I don’t really care for her voice in most books that I listen to it’s too hard too to harsh sounding. I’m not really happy about her as the narrator.
I really did not like Skyler‘s character period point blank within the first couple of chapters I knew I did not like her character I am starting on the second book because I foolishly bought the whole series based on the bad idea series that I really loved from Nicole French but I’m just appointed so far with Sv and after reading the first chapter of the second book it makes me not like Skyler‘s character even more.
Brandon‘s character was not flawless but I could tolerate him a lot more than I could Skyler. Her character is childish, and she comes off as a total B**** that is ungrateful. Instead of talking out her problems like an adult young or old she runs away from everything instead of trying to resolve the issues and listening to treason. Book 2 is starting as a direct effect of her childish behavior and running in book 1. Frankly I’m disgusted but I have to follow through and read the rest of book 2 and 3 if I’m unable to get refunded if 2 ends in total disaster!

A Casting Mistake

Brandon was somewhat of an enigma from the beginning of this book, and frankly I couldn't see myself trusting him. He did unconventional things to keep Scarla. Also Scarla was stupid for not questioning Brandon's behaviors. Not crazy about these characters and that includes Jane, Scarla's roommate, who along with Scarla acted childish. These women were studying to become lawyers at Harvard! The writer may have underestimated her readers with such plots while the story had potential, it lacked substance. Lastly, I like CJ Bloon, but for her to be casted to carried the entire book was a mistake. It reached a point, I couldn't hear anymore and wanted the book to end.

narrator is great, heroine is.the.worst

kind of a SPOILER ALERT!!! If you pick up this series, please know that abortion is a big topic in the second book. I wouldn't have read this if I'd known that- not knocking it, just definitely not what I like to read about in my HEA romances, no matter how dark they are, just wish I could've known somehow. ANYWAY, the first book is rough, this heroine is the absolute worst, but if you can make it through this book and to the end of the second one, it gets so much better. He finally gets tired of her crap eventually and the spicey scenes are phenomenal, so it's a great series by the end. I don't regret reading it!

phenomenal writing

very descriptive imagery, which I find to be the only way I can read books like this. the way the main characters interact most of the time had me holding my sides in laughter. I hate the way it ended though. now I have to purchase the second book. all in all, I highly recommend it

Buckle up and enjoy the ride😍😍😍

It's been a while since I've found a book that can actually hold my interest and I be so predictable!!! This was the first time listening to a book by this author and it did not disappoint!!! it kept me at the edge of my seat so much so that I read all 3 books and one sitting. The narration was good and the story was well-developed there is romance, comedy, mystery, hot sex scenes, and a strong female lead. I highly recommend this book😍😍😍🙌🙌🙌

Five Stars for the Performance Only!

I’m really not sure what I think about this book. Both of these main characters are annoying as all get out. Skyler complains about everything and is so ungrateful, and Brandon acts as if he’s a sadistic predator. I don’t even feel the chemistry between the two because it’s just all about lust and sex. I’m hoping that the conclusion of the other books get better because, if not, it will be a complete waste of credits and time. The only positive thing is CJ Bloom’s narration of the book.

Beautifully done !!

I love this series, these characters, and this audiobook does all of them justice.
The narrator is amazing and I loved her Skyler and the sliding in and out of the accents.
