Dirk thinks Raine's junk in the trunk is perfect and proposes to make Wade jealous by becoming her pretend boyfriend. Pretend soon seems very real. Is Dirk a great actor, or is something really developing between Raine and the movie star?

SUPER CUTE!! LIKEABLE CHARACTERS AND FUN STORY!!!

Any additional comments?

** I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review **

I like these little short stories...and the narrator is cute, but needs to work on her male voices....they are not good...female voices...perfect and so adorable...other than that this was a fun installment!! Raine doubts herself so much, she is practically killing herself to lose weight...she passes out exercising...and is found by the famous Dirk...he rescues her and they become friends...there is a spark...Dirk offers to be Raines pretend boyfriend to help her impress Wade her secret crush...but sometimes we find out the things we thought we wanted, are not all that they seemed....Super cute and well worth your time and a credit!!!

Quick, funny, easy romantic listen

What did you love best about Man Candy?

I love the author's writing style. She has a great sense of humor and I love the inner dialogue of her main character Raine.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I love Dirk, he has sweet but also had the "hero complex" going on.

Have you listened to any of Angie Hickman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

no, this was my first Angie Hickman performance so I can't compare it to any other.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes, it was a very easy listen that I could listen to in one sitting. It was funny and I couldn't out it down.

Any additional comments?

This was a very funny and cute romantic story. It had me laughing out loud at times and even had tears running down my face from laughing so hard at one point. This was my first book by this author and I will be sure to check out others by her. My only regret is that the book is so short, I like longer books but for a nice quick listen this is a good recommendation.

Lots of Laughs

I loved listening to Angie narrate. She made this story more enjoyable than it already was. Hearing about Raine and her crazy plans to get a jerk and the sweetheart Dirk coming to help kept me laughing and smiling the entire story. I love listening to this series and I plan on hearing them all.

Man Candy: Too Sweet!

I loved this short 2-hour book. This is my first by Elise Sax and I enjoyed every minute of it! What luck Raine has when she's being ridiculous in her "training" and her day is saved by gorgeous movie star Dirk Adams. Whilst they have an instant spark, Raine has it in her head since childhood that she is meant to be with some loddy-doddy named Wade. Fun ensues when Dirk suggests he pose as Raine's boyfriend to stir up some jealousy. This was an adorable romantic comedy with a HEA and I immediately scooped up the next opportunity to listen to another Elise Sax book in the series.

Short , sweet and crazy

What made the experience of listening to Man Candy the most enjoyable?

Angie really made it worth reading, she really makes everything come alive

What was one of the most memorable moments of Man Candy?

So many but the Monroe walk, and meeting her family, as well as the fight at the party were three really funny moments

What does Angie Hickman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She brings all the quirky personalities to life, some things you can really only find funny when you hear the tone . She really adds a twist and takes it to a whole new level

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I found this book really funny

Any additional comments?

Short and fluffy, I normally like long books with deep plots, but sometimes it's nice to just read something sugary and fun. This story does touch on a few deep subjects like self-esteem, bodytype etc.

Its full of funny moments, cheesy "scenes" and "one liners", and so many more things that really bring a quirky personality to the whole story.

Its worth a read if only for the Marilyn Monroe walk.

Great Book!

Any additional comments?

This is a great book; this is the second book in the Five Wishes series written by Elise Sax and narrated by Angie Hickman. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. The story flowed very well and was very enjoyable. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. The narrator did a wonderful job with this book. She did a great job with the different voices of each character in this book. It was very easy to listen to and I didn’t want to stop listening until the end. If you are looking for a great book with well-developed characters then you need to listen to this book. I am looking forward to listening to the next book by this author and narrator. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

well worth a credit

I was gifted this audio ARC for a honest and unbiased review from the author/narrator.
Elise Sax did a wonderful job of telling this story. She makes a great point of saying if a man doesn't love you the way you are, he isn't worth your time. Never change to please someone else because there will always be someone who already thinks you're perfect. There were times I laughed out loud at this book.
Angie Hickman was brilliant with her telling of this story.
I highly recommend this audio book to anyone who loves a good book.

Fun Romantic Comedy

Any additional comments?

Raine is on a mission and is "in training". Wade, the man she has been in love with for years, is back in town. Wade likes his women skinny and Raine is more full-figured, so she is determined to lose weight to get him to notice her. When she passes out while running, she is rescued by a man that she recognizes as Dirk Adams, the mega movie star. He concocts a plan to make Wade jealous by posing as her boyfriend and the fun begins.

Man Candy is Book 2 in the Five Wishes series and is a standalone. This was such a fun listen and I found myself laughing more than once. The bear scene was hilarious! I also liked that there was an important message in the story. If a man doesn't love you the way you are, he isn't worth your time. Never change to please someone else because there will always be someone who already thinks you're perfect. The narrator did a great job with pacing and character voices. I would recommend Man Candy.

Laugh out loud funny and sweet

What made the experience of listening to Man Candy the most enjoyable?

The narrator is perfect go for the story. She gives exactly the perfect inflection, emotion and sweetest that is Raine. I will listen to this story over and over.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Raine is my favorite. She is so sweet and truthful. She is honest, caring, quirky, and with a huge family that is funny and uninhibited. She shows her awe of Dirk the movie star but treats him with love and friendship

Which character – as performed by Angie Hickman – was your favorite?

Raine as said in previously said. She did a great job with each character, making them lovable even when they were odd like most of her family

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes definitely,,,,my husband kept asking me what was so funny,,couldn't stop laughing at the bear scene and had to stop listening because i was laughing

Any additional comments?

.A delightful Moselle of charm ,comedy and romance

Such a delightful Moselle of funny, witty and cuteness. Just plain old lovely book :) one thing I found amusing was the balance between suspense, romance and comedy I got from this book, it was truly a charming short story.I laughed a lot all through the book .I am 100%going to go back and buy book and and I'd love to listen to the rest of the series also.Angie Hickman was great portraying Raine. She really captured her quirky, cute adorable essence .Raine was so easy to relate with, even her insecurities were endearing. all in all this book has well developed characters which is no small feat in a book of this size.i wont spoil it by saying more but I must say I loved the message driven home in this book that we are perfect just the way we are.Such a heartwarming story.I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator. Absolutely laugh out loud funny!

I am absolutely delighted by this novella.

It is a fabulous bite size nugget of sumptuous romance with a generous dollop of humour. It is easy to listen to and almost impossible to willingly pause in the middle of. Rain is a quirky and smart woman with a relatable lack of confidence and Dirk is... well... va-va-voom!

I usually find short stories frustrating because the story lacks sufficient details or dimensions. Elise Sax has delicately balanced this story with just enough background detail, panty melting moments, romance and humour to keep the story well paced and keep the reader enthralled. Angie Hickman narrates the story well, projecting the flavour of the story with flair.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
