Publisher's summary

The McCaffertys: Slade

Slade McCafferty was a bachelor through and through - too busy raising hell to settle down. Case in point: fifteen years ago daredevil Slade had taken wild child Jamie Parsons’s innocence, and then had broken her heart. But Jamie is back in town, a lawyer, all confidence and polished professionalism. And seeing her again is setting off a tidal wave of emotions Slade thought he’d dammed up ages ago. Back then, as now, there’d been something about Jamie that made Slade ache for more. A hell of a lot more…

The McCaffertys: Randi

Is hiding the identity of her child’s father worth risking her life? Randi McCafferty seems to think so, but investigator Kurt Striker is hell-bent on changing her mind. Hired by her well-meaning but overbearing brothers to keep Randi and her son safe, Kurt knows the only way to eliminate the danger is to reveal Randi’s darkest secret…any way he can. Yet when protection leads to desire, will Randi and Kurt’s explosive affair leave them vulnerable to the threats whispering in the shadows?

Compilation of older stories....good storyline

The storylines in these books are ok. It was a couple of days of ok listen. Written in 2002-2004....so the writing is in the older style. I didn't like that so much. The narrator kept me in it. I didn't care for every voice she gave the characters but they were all distinctive. I think I purchased these on sale so it was worth the price but after I listened I went to Amazon and found these are rereleases compiled together. I really like the narrator.

Story line was good

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would, the story is pretty good.

What did you like best about this story?

The characters

What didn’t you like about Amy McFadden’s performance?

Hated it! I don't know exactly what it is but I really did not like it at all. Especially when she did the voices of the children.

Pass on this one.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

A re-released book. Should have stayed in archive. Don't waste the hours or credits. Shallow characters, unbelievalbly repetative, a book of feelings with little action. If you enjoy listening to a character argue with herself, immaturely act like a stubborn 4 year old and whine about already stated feelings; this is for you. Felt like hours of someone's therapy session with a commercial hint of skeletal storyline playing in the background. Don't recommend this book, maybe her others a better, this one simply feels like the editor forgot to read it.

Would you ever listen to anything by Lisa Jackson again?

Never.

What three words best describe Amy McFadden’s performance?

Good Performance.

What character would you cut from Disclosure?

Burn the whole book.

Audible, you need to stop taking money for one.

disappointed

What could Lisa Jackson have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

First time with this author. Thought in some spots maybe it would of been getting somewhere but sadly not. The ending seemed rushed.

How could the performance have been better?

Found the narrator aweful for my taste. I listen to audio at work and I really struggled to finish listening to it. Did not enjoy her switching from male to female voices and the kids voices was painful.

Any additional comments?

Not sure if by reading the book myself if I would of liked it any better. Really not sure that I will chance another by this author.

Drama at the Dude Ranch

Well,I'd consider this book mildly entertaining.Alot of drama, fast women and horny cowboys. The first half of the book was about Slade and Jamie.Slade didn't seem to be all that impressed before he met Jamie again after 15 years, but Jamie remembered him and for a good reason,he took her virginity, got her pregnant which resulted in her losing her baby, unbeknownst to Slade,he moved on and was about to marry someone else all the while planting his seed in this woman and that.Guess he hasn't heard of the invention of a condom,as a matter of fact it didn't sound like any if the McCaferty's understood the concept.Second half of the book a bit more adventurous with a killer on the loose trying to kill off Randy, the baby sister of the McCaferty clan.Going on the run with hired body guard Striker, trying to keep her family from becoming hurt by the killer, she and her baby flee only to be followed and found by Striker and yes...they end up together in the end.It was an okay listen.

Excellent book

Thorn and Slade are both in this book and some of Randi, I know there is a series of Slade, Thorn, Randi, and Matt. but in this book it focuses on Slade and Thorn, and some of Randi, so why buy the four series when you can get this one and there is the other one, that has Matt and Randi as main characters in it,
The second book Rumors is the one with Matt and Randi as main character's, but all the character's are in both book's...Just thought I would share that..

Very disappointed.

Would you consider the audio edition of Disclosure to be better than the print version?

Had listened to Matt and Thorne, was excited to have downloaded third book and what a disappointment.
Book was great, but why oh why did they change the narrator. The narrator of the first two book gave life to the story - the narrator of the third book was terrible kept loosing concentration found it really hard to finish book.

Would you be willing to try another one of Amy McFadden’s performances?

No

Any additional comments?

When it comes to Audio Books no matter how good the book is a bad narrator ruins it!!!!!
