Publisher's Summary

In this riveting novel from number-one New York Times best-selling author Lisa Jackson, a woman searches for the mother she hasn't seen in 20 years, and uncovers a nightmare of greed and deception....

In death, Didi Storm is finally getting the kind of publicity that eluded her in life. Twenty years ago, the ex-beauty queen worked the Vegas strip as a celebrity impersonator, too busy trying to make it big to spare much time for her daughter, Remmi. Shortly before she leaped from a San Francisco building, Didi's profile was rising again, thanks to a tell-all book. To Detective Dani Settler, it looks like a straightforward suicide, or perhaps a promotional stunt gone wrong. But Remmi knows the truth isn't so simple. Because though the broken body on the sidewalk is dressed in Didi's clothes and wig, it isn't Didi.

Remmi was 15 when she last saw her mother. Their parting came in the aftermath of a terrible night in the Mojave desert when Remmi - who'd secretly stowed away in Didi's car en route to meet her crush, Noah Scott - instead became witness to a mysterious rendezvous. Didi handed over one of her newborn twins to a man Remmi didn't recognize. Subsequently, Didi disappeared, as did Remmi's other half-sibling. Remmi has pleaded with the authorities to find them, but there have been no clues. Yet she's always had the sense that someone is watching her....

If the victim isn't Didi, who is it - and what's the connection? Remmi is shocked when Noah resurfaces. He was also in the desert that night, and now runs his own PI firm. He too believes it's time to find out what really happened. As they and Detective Settler dig deeper, the truth about Remmi's missing family begins to emerge...a story of ruthless ambition and twisted lies that someone will kill again and again to keep hidden....

Tons of Lead-Up; Crammed up ending

I thought the story was pretty good until I realized it was only 45 minutes left and tons of loose ends to tie up. The suspense was good until that point. And the other rushed to close it all up and it was very unsatisfying. So I’ve got to give it a three.

Boring

Redundant and really drawn out! Don't bother getting this one! Returning it since I wasted 13 hours!

Predictable and probably for teen audiences.

I like a good mystery! This book did not develop its characters well. Plot was corny and predictable. Performance was annoying. A real disappointment!

Not one of her better ones

Typically I don't write reviews but this book was a major disappointment from Lisa Jackson. Maybe I am just changing as a reader but I didn't find these characters interesting at all. I didn't connect with them on any level and I honestly didn't care where this story went or how it ended. I usually love Lisa Jackson books and will always download her latest one but this is the first time I have actually regretted doing so. Hopefully this is more a one time thing than a new pattern to her books. I will try the next one when it comes out with high hopes its an improvement over this one.

Giving up

I like Lisa Jackson usually, but I'm not feeling this one. Judging by the synopsis, I was expecting a different story. Instead, the book kicks off with what feels like several chapters of prologue. I get that the backstory is important, but Didi's is not the story I was expecting and anticipating. I think flashbacks would have worked better.

Ridiculous from Start to Finish

I rarely feel the need to write a negative review. But this book is just ridiculous from start to finish. The premise is unbelievable and the way it unfolds is laughable. I don't know what got into Lisa Jackson, but an editor should have stopped this book from being published. Spend your money elsewhere.

Good suspense mystery with outstanding narration!

The star of this audiobook is narrator Brittany Pressley. LIAR, LIAR is a solid suspense mystery with strong characters. Protagonist Remmi Storm is a young woman who emerges strong from a horrible childhood. The story develops a bit slowly and the ending is crowded with lots of action and a nice twist. I was afraid it was going to be a romance novel; it is not.

Great book from Lisa Jackson as always

Lisa Jackson never disappoints me. I was a little confused at the beginning, but it all came together to give the readers a fantastic mystery!!!
