Publisher's Summary

Thorne: When Thorne McCafferty rushes home to the family ranch, he is thinking only about whether his sister Randi will survive the car wreck that has put her in the hospital. He never expects that Randi’s E.R. doctor will be Nicole Stevenson.Nicole has never forgotten the teenage passion she shared with Thorne… or the sting of his unexplained rejection. Now she’s all grown up—but he still affects her in the very same way. Will they both be able to move beyond their pasts for a second chance at a happy ending?

Matt: has never met a woman who wouldn’t succumb to the McCafferty charm. But beautiful Kelly Dillinger, the cop assigned to his sister’s hit-and-run case, proves indifferent to his attention. Her all-business attitude pricks his ego…and fires up his blood. The more she resists, the more determined he becomes to break down her defenses. Matt might think that law enforcement is no place for a lady, but he might soon find himself making a plea for passion.

It was only the narration that got me through this

Firstly, this is a compilation of 2 books so part 1 is Thorne's story and part 2 is Matt's story but they are both interchangeable.

Thorne's book was a little more interesting than Matt's story purely because by the time it was Matt's turn it was just more of the same thing ..... Thorne fell in love with the nurse looking after his sister in Hospital and Matt fell in love with the female officer in charge of finding out who tried to kill her. It was all a bit of a 'yawn' and, whilst listening, I started drifting off thinking "ohh get on with it - who cares", the romances weren't very stirring, passionate or sexy....... and again this had me drifting off and pondering.... "is the washing finished" or "what shall we have for dinner?" (You get the picture).

After 12 hours of torture oh no sorry - I mean 'listening pleasure' they haven't even found a suspect yet and I won't be downloading Disclosure the next in the series to possibly find out the who what or why's cause I'm just not interested and they changed a male narrator's voice (good for hunky handsome cowboys yes) to a female narrator WHY?? Ever heard the saying "if it ain't broke - don't try to fix it"?.

Worth a Credit? It was only $7.34 so I bought it but wished I hadn't so.....NO I don't think it's worth a credit or even half a credit - it was like taking a lukewarm bath - functional but not very enjoyable - but hey if you like a lukewarm bath then go for it.

Don't Waste Your Money Or Time

Would you try another book from Lisa Jackson and/or Todd Haberkorn?

I would try another from the narrator. NOT the author.

What was most disappointing about Lisa Jackson’s story?

There is no resolution to the stories! They expect you to buy ANOTHER book and sit through ANOTHER 12 hours to find out who the villain is. The problem is after the first 12, you just don't care!

Have you listened to any of Todd Haberkorn’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've never listened to any of his other narrations, but I certainly look forward to it!

What character would you cut from Rumors?

Everyone...

Any additional comments?

I felt cheated. I wasted my money and my time on a story about a girl in a coma that almost put me in a coma of my own!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I listen in my car and I was going to lunch and eating in my car so that I could continue the story.

Lack Imgination

All these books about Montana and Wyoming ranchers. Have the same basic plot with a twist here or there. There about the worst Kind of womanizer who suddenly decide to grow up a set their sights on the girl the walked away from 15 years before. But you they just have to give them a little attention and the girl drops in their lap. Talk about weak spineless women. It's just crap. If you read one you've read them all.

Excellent book

Matt and Randi are the main characters in this book, so you can either get the four series or you can get this one and Disclosure both by Lisa Jackson both are the McCafferty's....why buy 4 when you can get two.....

Lisa Jackson at her worse.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

To not listen at all

What do you think your next listen will be?

unknown

Would you be willing to try another one of Todd Haberkorn’s performances?

No

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Just a waste of time listening to it

Any additional comments?

I have always loved Lisa Jackson's books and think this is her worst book ever. The kids are very annoying, especially when the narrator changes his voice for the kids. The things they say are not normal for 4 year old kids. I could not continue the book and after reading the reviews and finding there is no ending, its in another book, I was certainly glad I stopped. I should have read the reviews better before purchasing.

Average

I actually bought this years ago and this is my second listen. I couldn't remember much about it so I figured I'll give it another go. Well, I can see why it was so forgettable.

Maybe I'm being a bit harsh with my review but I'm only giving it 3 stars because the narration is decent. Otherwise, this is just another book where the guys are absolute jerks and the women are complete doormats. A 22 year old Thorne seduces the 17 year old Nikki then disappears on her without an explanation. And what does she do when he turns up again? Oh yeah, jumps straight in bed with him, doesn't even make him work for it. This book with be archived and I'm not wasting another credit on any of Jackson's books.

Predictable, sexist

An unbelievable but predictable story, quite ridiculous in some parts. Difficult to finish. The narrator didn’t do a bad job and the voice was quite pleasant
